RE: Trading Standards Reply

It would appear that all has gone quiet with letsbuyit.com and this "offer".

No-one has any further good news on this matter either, and the offer date is coming up soon.

I reckon that for £89, it still a bargain player - anyone agree or have anything extra to add?

I reckon that we have lost on this one now dudes....

RE: Trading Standards Reply

Hi Chappies,

Has anyone had any movement on this yet?.

All appears to have gone quiet....

Anyone chased it up? - Any news?

RE: Trading Standards Reply

Well, it looks like letsbuyit.com were right after all!.

It would seem the only thing left to do now is

A) Get The Mirror newspaper involved AGAIN
B) Pursue this in a small claims court

Anyone care to oblige?

RE: DVD Player & 10 Free DVDs For £25

Ok! - so I`m convinced!!!!

So what do we do now then guys?.

maybe it`s worth contacting The Mirror again?

RE: DVD Player & 10 Free DVDs For £25

Point(s) taken - I just don`t know what to do with this one - I am "divided".

RE: DVD Player & 10 Free DVDs For £25

Errr,

i think you miss the point here - if they have been talking to lawyers and trading standards then they know EXACTLY what they have to honour and what they don`t.

Just because you say it`s true - it doesn`t make it so.

It`s PROVING it that`s the problem, and I think that you (or anyone else for that matter) will be hard pressed to do so.

And before you ask - no, I don`t work them! - I want the player for 30 quid as much as YOU do..

RE: DVD Player & 10 Free DVDs For £25

I guess what it comes down to now is this:-

1. Is 90quid a GOOD price for this player?

2. Could you get a similar quality player with multiregion, etc at the same, or better price somewhere else? - I doubt it - the cheap 80 quid ones in Argos, tesco, etc are not of the same build/quality.

3. If letsbuyit.com ARE banking on people not going for it, and the answers to questions 1 and 2 are Yes and Nor accordingly, then why not suprise them!!

4. Can anyone REALLY be arsed to argue to toss about it anymore - would you have used letsbuyit.com if they HADN`T made a balls up?..

RE: DVD Player & 10 Free DVDs For £25

As much as it pains me - I think that they are right - they have made a "fair and legal" offer, and so I reckon that will be the end of it.

Remember that they have not also been in contact with trading standards, but their lawyers as well, so I reckon we have had it mate.

Is the player at 90 quid a good bargain still - I think it probably is?.

YES I know the arguments FOR getting it at 30 quid - but it would seem that in this case, it`s not gonna happen guys!.

Still, having said all of that, I am NOT a "legal eagle", and would be very interested to see what all you other guys think..

RE: DVD Player & 10 Free DVDs For £25

Yeah - I got the same e-mail.

Anyone got any ideas as to where we stand with this and what to do next?

RE: DVD Player & 10 Free DVDs For £25

Just got an e-mail from letsbuyit.com.....

got all excited, opened it.....

BUGGER!...

just an "advert"....

Ho hum!....

RE: DVD Player & 10 Free DVDs For £25

No - all quiet on the Western front! - how long do we leave it now before we pursue this further?.

RE: DVD Player & 10 Free DVDs For £25

Anyone heard anything from letsbuyit yet?....

Can wait to get my hands on that DVD player !

RE: DVD Player & 10 Free DVDs For £25

Any of you guys had a reply from letsbuyit.com yet?.

Still awaiting mine - but won`t hold my breath!

RE: DVD Player & 10 Free DVDs For £25

Please let us know how you guys get on! - I ordered one too!.

RE: DVD Player & 10 Free DVDs For £25

Well, either that, or it REALLY was a bargain and we are getting cynical in our old age!...

Nah!!!!.........................

RE: DVD Player & 10 Free DVDs For £25

No - looks like they have reposted the offer with the correct price - the previous offer WAS at 30 quid....but yeah, I reckon they made a balls up!...lets see what develops!...
