RE: Daewoo DHC-2200K Problems

I bought my Daewoo yesterday, and so far, apart from not switching my TV into RGB mode correctly I have been very pleased!
I have a Region 1 Matrix and it plays with absolutely no problems.
I have not noticed any artifact problem although I have only played the Matrix, Heat & Bugs Life (All region 1).
I also don`t appear to have any interference on my screen although I do have the digital audio output turned off at the moment!
I have another 12 days to find any probs in order to get my money back from Argos easily, is there anything I should be lloking for?

RE: Argos Daewoo Alert!

I have to disagree with you as I have just bought one and have set it to Region Bypass with Macrovision Off.
I did it by ejecting the disc so that NO DISC was displayed and then pressing SETUP followed by STEP and NEXT then cursoring down the menu to the bottom!
I am about to modify my scart lead to correct the switching fault for RGB, so I won`t know until later if it works or not!
Still I have another 13 days to take it back if I change my mind :-,)

RE: Hack for Daewoo DHC-2200K

Having seen your posting, I decided to buy the Daewoo from ARGOS because if the hack didn`t work I could get my money back!
The hack works perfectly, once I realised that I had to have `NO DISC` on the display.
One point of note is that it even has the Macrovision disable option!!
The Sony RGB scart does have a problem though because the player only puts 8 volts on pin 8 and 2 volts on pin 16.
I think that you need arounf 3-4 volts on pin 16 to get the auto switching to work. Pin 8 should really be 9-12 volts.
I am really happy with the unit, especially for £180 :-)
