How does the hack work? Im thinking of buying this model. Does it reprogram the firmware so you just put any disk in and go... or do you have to put the cd in every time you wanna change region?

They do work well but good one tend to cost alot of money and the cheap ones (sub £100) some really do "mess" with the picture quality.

If you do want to "backup" your dvd`s either upgrade dvd to one where the macrovision can be turned off. or DIVX your dvd`s on to CD`s.

RE: Region hack for LG 2280P

I have a 2280p and the "normal" remote hack works fine for me. Just to make sure:

Turn on with no disk in.
Wait til it says "no disk"
press pause (on the player!!!)
314159 on the remote
the COdE comes up on the lacd screen
then press the region code you want 0 - 6
then pause on the player again

You have to do every thing from one pause to the last in like 20 seconds for it to work!!!
