RE: YELO 800 ?

Anyone know if this player will output PAL50 from an NTSC disc?

LG3350E - anyone made this multiregion/macro-free yet?

Does anyone have a chip sorted out for this machine(plays everything, lots of output options) yet?

Wharfedale 750s

Interesting to read that the new firmware nows has PAL50/60 options.

I presume that the handset hack still doesn`t disable macrovision(anyone checked?) and you`ll need a separate box to do this?

New machine - Yelo 800DVD

This player got a glowing review from Total DVD - it seems to have everything - anyone got one?

And does it have NTSC-PAL50 transcoding? It is specced as NTSC/PAL output, but it isn`t clear if this means transcoding......

Thomson DTH4200

This is supposed to have a handset hack(Ref: What Video & DVD), and is in Argos at £250. Seems well specced with RGB, component and S-video outputs, and will play CDR, CDRW, and MP3.

An earlier Thomson model(3300?) used the Samsung hack.

Anyone know what the hack is??

RE: DVD that plays CDR and MP3

Two new machines from LG and Thomson - LG3350E and Thomson DTH4200 both do this. The LG is multiregion upgradeable, and the Thomson is supposed to have a handset hack. Argos sell the Thomson at £250, and it has RGB, S-video and component output. The LG has RGB and S-video.

The handset hack is unknown, but an earlier Thomson used the Samsung 709 remote hack, apparently.
