RE: JUST watch the two towers on DVD
just read your message and thought u could try this to check your d/l`s on, (sounds like dadaa)
stop dadaa, and go to my shared folder, rename the extention from .dat to .avi you can usually play them to check if the file is real. if its real change back to .dat, and restart dadaa,
this saves a hell of a lot of time, but so would banning the idiots who rename files.
RE: Help needed on sharp projector
i have also been offered a 710p for a similar price, but i cant find any info about the spec i.e. the no of lumens, what i have found out is that its very old, predating the xvc1e and a replacement lamp costs around about the standard £250. if u find out any more let me know.
RE: Please Help! I gotta new DVD player . . . .
the hack also works by just pressing just the menu key and then 1, this makes it a little easier, but lets hope someone comes up with a more permanent solution soon.
i have now tried several different cdrs including 99min infinity, they all play fine.
RE: Please Help! I gotta new DVD player . . . .
cheers, i was on the verge of taking the thing back when i saw your trick, and it worked perfectly, i have also tried several r1disks and i have had no trouble what so ever. r u sure yours wont play them?
RE: anyone seen new argos catalogue
yep, i bought one this morning, yep it does play r1 straight out of the box
no i cant get it to play vcd or svcd, although svcd is on the display, if you look really closely.
i have found that with some vcd`s if you power off with the disk in, then power up it will find the track, but it then spits the disk out.
This makes me think that they may be some way to enable vcd playback.
if someone knows of a way let me know, if not then the machines going back.

new alba 108
i just got this dvd player, and it seems excellent for the money £70
it plays r1 discs straight from the box, but i haven`t been able to get a
vcd or svcd to play yet, if i switch the player of and back on with a
vcd in the tray it does play for a milli sec, but then spits it out.
does any one know a hack to enable vcd playback?
