Sony RDR-GX300 DVD-R Region Hack PLEEEEEEEEEEEASE!

Just got a sony RDR-GX300 as part of a bundle with a Sony flat screen TV, but need to know if it can be hacked for region 1, as half of of disc`s are region 1?

Thanks Micki, finally got around to trying the hack again after changing the settings of the player for the remote setting and everything worked fine this time, will teach me to read the manual first next time!

Claire, can say this hack works fine, just have to make that change in the 880 menu first :o)

Pele, thanks for the reply! Been out and purchased a One For All 4 Digital Remote and gone through the basic part to set the remote for a Philips DVD player using the 0539 code and it doesn`t operate the machine, it won`t switch on or off, or anything! Do you think it could be different for this new 880?

Any help would be very much appreciated :o)

Region hack for Philips 880

Does anyone know if the standard Philips remote hack will work on the new Philips DVDR880 machine, sure it will do, but just wanted to check before I try it!
