Wasp destroying Super Weapon

Nice to hear some more of the brave actions of the frontline troops in the war against wasp-kind. I thought I`d share with you details of my wasp destroying super-weapon, also known as the humble microwave.

Simply put a small dish of jam in the microwave and leave the door open enticingly (I find that using an extension cable to allow me to place the microwave in the garden allows you to attract more of the little buggers) wait until some wasps are merrily feasting on their last meal and bam! Slam the door shut and cook on full power for 1 min. Instant toasted wasp.

makes a bit of a mess of the inside of the microwave though... (my other half wasn`t best pleased)

RE: wasp cream

Really enjoyed the deep philosophical musings in this thread, but why has it suddenly turned into some sort of entomology forum?

Anyway just to further add to the wasp thread, when you squash a wasp it releases pheromones which are detected by other wasps which then converge angrily on the area. I remember as a kid squashing a couple of wasps in the garden and then lying in wait as more and more of the little bastards turned up, must have bagged about 20 that day...

RE: The Wicker Man: Another version to buy?

The documentary on R2 Wicker Man is indeed different to the one screened by Film Four. Although not quite as good it is still an interesting documentary, featuring contributions from all the major participants, although Ekland is notable by her absence.

The `Critics Choice` segment is on the R2 copy I`ve got, and as far as I`m aware the UK version has the same running time as the US version (there are certainly no extra scenes in the UK version)

The Directors Cut is taken from the Corman print, which is the only copy of the extended version of the film still in existence.

If anyone ever gets the chance visit the church at Amwoth (as used in the film) it`s fantastic.
