Hi Trevor,
Your player is just a DVD750 but in silver instead of black.
You can use the hack for the DVD750 in the multi region hacks of this site. for a permanant fix you will need to reprogram or chip you player, the later will invalidate your guarantee but you can do it your self if you can use a soldering iron. I can reprogram your player so that it will be permenantly auto multi region for £30+pp I am in Manchester if you wish to bring me your player. You can email me @ ewc-aelr[at].moc.12klat

HI Everyone,
I reprogram players for multiregion playback, this will not invalidate you guarantee and can be done even if you player is locked. You would need to bring or send me your payer ( I am in Manchester ). I charge £30+pp.

Have you tried the hacks for other philips player?
These are only temperary but if you want a permenant fix I can possibly modify your player.

RE: Saw DVD Reviewer Region Hack for Grundig 210, and it works! But...

Hi benji,
when you use the hack for this player it changes the player to a region 1 machine. to return it to region 2 you need to open the draw , put a region 2 disc in the draw but do not close it, them press return then play to return the player to region 1.
If your player won`t play particular disc`s you need to changed the players firmware. If you contact Grundig they will be able to advise you further. They may send you a cd rom with the firmware on ( just put it in your player ) or they may ask you to take it to a dealer so they can do the upgrade ( usualy for free ).
Unless you have any problems playing disc`s ( region 1 or 2 ) you will not need to do this.

Firmware is the programming on the player that tells player how to play a disc. If your player is saying "the region code of this player does not match that of the disc" it is not because your player needs a firmware update. Maybe the disc is faulty. I can reprogram you player but you would have to send or bring me the player.

Yes chipping is safe if done correctly but it will invalidate your gaurantee,
But chipping is not the only way to make your player multi region, you can get your player reprogramed for multi region. This will not invalidate your gaurantee.

It is possible that the firmware that your player is running will not play this disc, I had a similar problem with a Philips DVD930 when trying to play The Matrix. I solved the problem with a firmware upgrade, supplied on a disc from Philips. If your player won`t play The Matrix this is likely to be the problem. You can get an upgrade disc from Philips.

P.S. if your TV has more than one scart socket try swaping them round.
It could be that only one of your scarts is NTSC compatable.

Hi Coops,
The problem you are having is because your not doing the hack correctly,
Remove the disc from the player and close the draw, the player will now display `NO DISC`. Now you can press play 2,7,4 and enter the code for the particular region.
If you wish to have full multi region playback you will need to get the player reprogramed or chiped.

Hi Fisher,
There is a limited hack for this player that can be done by the remote control it is as follows:-
Press on dvd remote PLAY then 2 7 4. The display on your player will now appear as a row of dashes. Now enter 006000128156 then press Play(screen will flash red). The player will now be region1. To switch back to region2 repeat the process again replacing the long code with:-
001000128156.
This is a limited hack and after 25 changed it will lock into the last region selected. When this happens the player will need reprogramming or chiping.

RE: NTSC TO PAL ?

It is because your tv won`t accept an NTSC signal,
try changing the scart socket you are using on your tv.
If this still dosen`t work or you dont have another scart socket to use all you can do is replace you tv or watch in black and white.

Philips dvd locked?

I am able to cheaply unlock any Philips dvd player so that no codes are needed for multiregion playback. Even if the player is lockedup after 25 hacks.

I can reprogram or unlock any Philips, some Grundig, Lowe, and other philips based players, without the need for chipping. my method also removes the macro vision, as far as I know none of the remote base limited hacks remove the macro vision. email me for more info. 0002_ael_drahcir[at]ku.oc.oohay .
