RE: Panasonic DVD-RV32 Multi-Region Hack

I think it`s a matter of a chipped remote or nothing on the RV32 ( both types) but who knows there may be another way , you`ve certainly found out quite a lot there.

Even if you cracked the region ( whether you used a chipped remote or not ) then you wont enable pal so will still be quite restricted , the parts will be missing out of the unit !

Even if you fitted the extra parts to play pal your tv will no doubt be ntsc only so if you are wanting to watch r2 european DVDs then buy a new player

RE: Panasonic DVD-RV32 Multi-Region Hack

It may be wise to tell people which RV32 you are talking about as the Region 1 RV32 is nothing like the Region 2 RV32 , they have completely different insides and messing with test modes on Region 2 RV32 can cause permanent damage which cannot be reset by initialise

RE: Anybody know a Tosh 220 hack?

Yes , Look harder for a link to download the upgrade CDR , from this very message board !

RE: Panasonic DVD-RA82 Multi-Region Hack

quote from the site

"We`ve chipped this remote control to allow it to convert Panasonic DVD players to Multiregion without removing the cover. Compatible with NVVHD1BS , RV32 , XV10 , LV50 , RA62 , RA82 , LV65"

RE: TOSHIBA FIRMWARES

it cant work on older machines because the "routine" is not bulit into the firmware for the disk to activate , if I try to tell you a link here it gets blocked such as you can buy a chip for £20 from d******* !!

You need to ask on a less censored forum like www.thedvdforums.com

RE: Multi Region Hack needed for Panasonic SC DT300

you need to use an upgrade disk but I cant tell you where to get it from on here I suggest you ask on the DVD and Home Cinema Forum of www.thedvdforums.com

RE: TOSHIBA FIRMWARES

a lot of people are cunfused about this upgrade disk for the 120 and 220 , it DOES NOT ALTER THE FIRMWARE !! , it is an upgrade disk that alters the players SETTINGS to Auto Region , it DOES NOT ALTER FIRMWARE!

It does not work on anything older than 120 / 220 so it does not work on 110 / 210 / 100 etc ....

RE: sony dvp s735

You can see there 3 options taken from the dvd chips summary table

An Auto Chip
An RCE Chip
And Finally an Auto Chip and RCE chip ( Both the above Chips )

Macro = Macrovision and is a form of copy protection , if it`s given you no problem up until now then there is no need to disable it , RCE is described on this page.

http://www.dvdtalk.com/rce.html

If you just want to extend your ability to play disks very cheaply and can live without RCE compatibility then go for the dvd chips auto chip , if however you want RCE compatibility aswell then I would advise against the dvd chips RCE chip as it`s very basic to say the least and with a high end machine like you have you would not be happy with the limitations caused by the dvd chips RCE chip.

If you want the full mod with full manual switching and hence full RCE comatible then be prepared to pay a lot more and have much more difficult installaton.

For a Full mod visit the likes of www.multiregionmagic.co.uk or www.techtronics.com

RE: Best place to get chipped?

You can rent an upgrade remote to upgrade the player to all region and this would cost you about £40 but due to censorship on this board the url you need to be diverted to just comes up as ******* . I suggest you ask on the DVD and Home Cinema Forum of www.thedvdforums.com
