RE: Blakes 7 Release - Delayed...
I trolled some other forums about this and it seems not all players are affected!
I just tried running episode 2 on my DVD burner with RealMagic Hollywood+ card and sure enough, absolutely NO pause (despite it being major - even losing a whole sentence - on my Bush DVD2035) :/
So it looks like some companies (and this includes the likes of Panasonic as well, not just cheapies) have been using rubbish drives inside thier players that simply can`t re-align rapidly enough to cope with the layer change >:(
Either that or my comp. is using the cache I mentioned to GREAT effect :D
RE: Blakes 7 Release - Delayed...
I got my copy last week. :)
I REALLY hope there`s some sort of swap programme like you`ve suggested - there`s no excuse for having a layer change in the middle of a scene these days >:(
Mind you, it`s about time player manufacturers have some sort of buffer, like portable CD players have. They could scan ahead as they play and use the buffer up during the laser re-positioning/frequency change. All royalties for the idea to the usual address, please ;)
RE: Hack needed for Bush dvd 2035
This is basically the same hack as the Limit DVD9091 but with no MacroVision disable option (it already plays S/VCDs so that option isn`t there, either).
1. Press the Open/Close button on your remote control
2. Press the Setup button on your remote control
3. Press the buttons 1, 3, 6 and 9, in order, one at a time, on your remote control
4. Press the Left button on your remote control three times, in succession
5. Press the Right button on your remote control
6. The setup menu should now have an item on it called "Version".
7. Select that option from the menu, then select the Region option.
Setting region to 0 has let me use region 1 and 2 discs so should be the multi-region option.
I hope this has helped :)
RE: Hax For Goodmans GDVD135
The number 0 dosn`t appear in the dashes but should appear when you press ENTER.
If it still doesn`t work, you may have different firmware to mine.
I also changed the code to 13 and it stayed multiregion, so you may want to try that.
RE: GOODMANS GDVD-135 Multiregion Hack ***REQUIRED***
Everything comes to he who waits - and she who presses many buttons!
Try this:
Turn on the player and eject the disc tray.
On the remote, type 2812, followed by ENTER.
This gets you to the engineers menu - hooray!
Press down until you reach COUNTRY CODE and press ENTER.
The current region code will change to four dashes (----)
Input one number (0=Region Free, 1=USA 2=Europe, etc) and press ENTER again.
The new region code will now be displayed.
You can exit by just pressing the eject button once more.
OP PROH ON is referring to operator prohibitions.
Allegedly, disabling this will let you skip through copyright warnings and so on.
I have yet to pull this off but then I am more interested in getting it to play S/VCDs reliably, without having to hold down the MENU button on the machine, while pressing one of the remote keys (I prefer `5` as that is the one I first succeeded on).

RE: goodmans GDVD-135
I set about trying every remote hack I could find in the hope that this player might use the same software as another model.
Eventually, I struck lucky!
Turn on the player and eject the disc tray.
On the remote, type 2812, followed by ENTER.
This gets you to the engineers menu - hooray!
Press down until you reach COUNTRY CODE and press ENTER.

RE: Goodmans HEC8 hack needed
Before going any further, you will need to know what model of DVD player is supplied with this system.
I bought an HEC10 a few weeks ago and it came with a GDVD135, which I have finally managed to hack.
Once you have the necessary information, it should be possible for someone to help you.
RE: Goodmans HEC10 Home Cinema
Hello! I bought one of these a few weeks back so I`m hoping that it came with the same player as mine - a GDVD135. If this is the case, then I have found the hack!
Turn on the player and eject the disc tray.
On the remote, type 2812, followed by enter.
This gets you to the engineers menu.
Press down until you reach COUNTRY CODE and press enter.
