RE: The Nokia 7600 hokey-cokey - now back on CPW site (£44.99)
Coulnt get this online so popped into my local CPW and girl just took my order at the above price and said they will call as soon a s it is back in stock. She said that the price is fixed now that I have paid and have a receipt. So no worries then!!!
RE: Buying DVD player/laptop from the States
Ramtec -I would consider selling the ex-demo P2020 that I have. It can be sold with a manufacturer full year warranty. As new with all packaging.
RE: Buying DVD player/laptop from the States
Forgot to mention, the power supplies are usually multi-voltage, my Fujitsu P2020 is and so is the DVD player but check to be sure.
RE: Buying DVD player/laptop from the States
I bought a P2020 model a couple of months ago here in the UK, you can change the region up to around 7 times. After that just use DVD Genie (download it) to set whatever region you want as it resets the flag that the system sets.
As to importing, I have imported a Sony Vaio but the mainboard went and Sony here would not support it so it`s junk really. Last week I imported a special DVD player from California but by the time you add carriage, Insurance and then a hefty £47.50 (ParcelForce enforced this VAT & Duty) it really isn`t worth it. Unless you can`t get the model you want here.
Hope this helps.
RE: TiVo ?150 at Comet
Once you have got used to life with TIVO - your TV viewing habits change forever. I recommend everyone to have one. When it starts getting full I just archive onto DVD+RW or +R. Also it uses the Linux operating system and upgrading the standard 40GB disk to say 120gb is fairly straight forward if you are technically competant. - Incedently, I noticed last weekend that the new Panasonic DVR/DVDRam/HDD recorder (with TimeShift) was avaiable for around £400 from Dixons with 12 month free credit. I think the deal was only on for a few days so it may have ended.
RE: ANY DVD PLAYERS PLAY CD+G CD`S?
Will do. Soon as I have some spare time!
RE: Watching NTL TV in another room?
I tried this by buying a Philips video sender from Tesco. It was fine for sending the picture and ound to another set upstairs but the IR signel on the Pace boxes is not compatable, so had to take it back. I have had a similar problem with my TIVO controling the Pace NTL box but they have fixed that now. - I have a Spare Pace NTL digi box which I am about to put on eBay. I wouldn`t know how to set it up though.
RE: ANY DVD PLAYERS PLAY CD+G CD`S?
Yes quite a few of the players from Amoisonic (Conia) - I have just purchased the Conia DVD 8500 although it is hard to find. No one on this forum seems to know about it. (see my post in "Region Hacks")
Conia (Amiosonic) DVD 8500
I have just ordered one of these from a US store online and while i`m waiting for it to arrive was wondering if anyone else has one. It is an interesting machine. Progressive scan, probabaly only in NTSC though, Kareoke functions and a great looking box (IMHO). - What i`m hoping is that it will have similar hack functions as found on my Shinco 2120, i.e Region code chage or free, CSS on/off and Macrovision on/off - Anyone know?
There really is not much to be found on the Internet although a firm in Notts is selling it at quite a high price, they`ve got a spec here:- http://www.emkaraoke.co.uk/coniadvd.htm
Any help would me appeciated.
