Ive found this on a french site, I already bought mine Regionfree from Richer sounds. The file according to my PC is a Nero file and will need to be burned to a disk.

RE: aiwa hv-dh1k region hack please

I originated the hack for the Aiwa combi unit.
My mums has a date code of May 2002 on the back of it, so they may have changed the firmware. However this hack works for the LG dvd combi unit too, but, people have had problems with the way the file was burnt onto CD. Direct CD does not work. The firmware displayed something like below.
MODEL : AIWA (AV50002)
REGION No. : 2
CHIP I.D. : PANTERA II LE
SERVO VER. : 20410a
MICOM VER. : V1.01 MP

To display your firmware do the following after powering up and clicking the DVD button.
1.Press "Setup" on the remote, and highlight "TV Aspect"

2.Place the cursor on "16:9 Wide" and enter the following code on the Remote

1397139

3.Press "Enter"

This also works for the Aiwa DVD/VCR combi HV-DH1

After some research looking at peoples postings of firmware for machines that this hack worked for I tried it on my mums HV-DH1.
It worked for me!

To make this machine multi region use the lg5000 zip.
