acoustic solutions 451

I bought the Acoustic Solutions 451 from Richer Sounds recently, and was told it would no longer play vcd`s. I have tried various cd`s of mine and it seems to find most .jpg files and display these (as a slide show) but won`t find any .mpg files. Switching the code 5000 or 5001 doesn`t seem to do anything. Do I need a different form of file for a vcd or should most .mpg files play (if the machine is able). Has anyone found a further hack for this?

Acoustic Solutions dvd451 vcd

The Acoustic Solutions dvd451 I have just bought no longer supports vcds, which it apparently used to do until recently. Is there a hack to remedy this?
