RE: Any Hacks/help for my Toshiba SD-220E?

Sorry, I don`t know anything about the 125E cos I haven`t got it. I`m just a guy that bought a playa then realised it wasn`t region free. Came here to find a hack to make my 220E region free. After much hassle I now have a disc that makes it region free, although I don`t know if the same disc will work on your playa. Your free to try at YOUR OWN risk! Send me an email to: namknuyG[at]moc.oohaY and I can send you a copy, but like I said, I am no technical expert so I don`t know if it will work on your Playa!

Not sure about the Macrovision option, but I don`t think that it does disable it. I have a copy of the disc that makes it region free though. Hit me back at knuyG[at]moc.liamtoh to let me know how you get on!

RE: Any Hacks/help for my Toshiba SD-220E?

Sure. My Email is namknuyG[at].moc.oohay You can have the very disc I used to unlock my Player if you like. I don`t need it anymore!

Advise: which player do you think is better Goodmans 124 or Tosh sd220e?

I have the luxury of owning both players, but I`m selling one to a friend (as I don`t need both!) I`m not sure which is the better of the two players. Does anyone know which is the best/why it is the best?

Both are good. The Goodmans plays my Spiderman SVCD flawlessly. My new Tosh has some trouble with it. The CD pauses sometimes and the speech isn`t quite in synch with the picture! Does anyone know why this is?

Advise: Does the Toshiba sd-220e have macrovision enabled?

Hi I just got a Tosh 220e and was wondering if I can disable the macrovision on it.

I have already tried using the forums search facility with no luck. I have managed to make my player multiregion using the sd220e.cue file, but was wondering if that makes if macrovision free?

RE: Any Hacks/help for my Toshiba SD-220E?

Brookdale,

I had to search for ages after posting that question, but I found a link on a much older thread that can help you. It helped me out! Now my DVD is region free!

http://sd220e.chez.tiscali.fr/

You may need to download a free zip decompressor called WinAce (kinda like Winzip) to unzip the .rar file contained at the above site.

Once you`ve done all that you need to burn only the .cue file to a blank CD. I used NERO 5.5 and it worked fine. YOU MUST, however, use the Disk-At-Once option in the Burn Method section, other wise it will not work.

The first thing you need to do is load nero, goto the file menu and select Burn Image. From here you select the file and options I have just mentioned.

Once the CD is made, set your DVD option on your player to auto in the setup/picture menu.

Load the CD as you would any other DVD, let it play for about 10 Secs and that`s it! Region Free DVD!!

Let me know how you get on!

RE: Any Hacks/help for my Toshiba SD-220E?

Thanks. I used that link and now my Player is region free! Do you know if this will work for those RCE (region contol enhanced) discs? Will my player still be able to play them?

Advise, why is my Goodmans GVD124 only playing R1 discs?

I have a R2 player that I applied the region hack to. (You know, the press 74, then set region code to 13 for multi region) Everything was fine. Few weeks went by and I thought I`d watch a R2 disc. Now my player gives me an error message of "Wrong Disk Format"!?!

I have tried setting the region code to that of the disk, but it still doesn`t work! It`s the same error for all my R2 discs. Now I can only watch R1 discs and the region hack has to be set!!

Can anyone help?

Any Hacks/help for my Toshiba SD-220E?
