RE: Yelo 800 Firmware Upgrade

Hi.
Never resolved the firmware issue I`m afraid. Kiro were no help either - in fact I do believe I am still waiting for a reply from them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :/

I eventually got round the problem by upgrading the burning software which helps to a degree. It does still freeze at times but I just stop and start it again and it`s fine for the rest of the disc. Never had any problems with Disney DVDs like you though.

RE: Yelo 800 Firmware Upgrade

Go to www.kiiro.co.uk and register it there. Kiiro. I believe, is the name for Yelo distribution in the UK.

RE: Yelo 800 Firmware Upgrade

When you got the DVD player the manual should have had a loose leaf sheet regarding Region Setup. Follow the Region Code Set-up procedure and it displays the Fatory Setting Page. the firmware version is on there.

RE: Yelo 800 Firmware Upgrade

I`ve recently purchased a RICOH DVD+RW/+R for the PC and it came with software for creating DVDs. These work fine on the Yelo with 2.56 firmware but not the one with the 2.52 software.

Yelo 800 Firmware Upgrade

Anyone out there know if it`s possible to upgrade the firmware on the Yelo 800 DVD Player?

If so, how?

Thanks for any info.

RE: Philips DVDR-880 Multi Region Hack - HELP!

Trust me. It works!

I too was doubtful about whether the One4All would make a difference especially as the Phillips remote got me 90% of the way there. That`s why I bought 2nd hand. However it does do that last 10%. Whether it`s the code the O4A uses I don`t know but I am now region free because of it. Just make sure you use the O4A to do ALL of the hack. Don`t mix & match.

RE: Philips DVDR-880 Multi Region Hack - HELP!

I actually went and got a One4All6 remote in the end. The problem lies not with getting the dashes up (the Phillips remote does that) it`s the inputting of the code needed to make it region free. The phillips remote doesn`t register whereas a One4All6 does.

I got my One4all off ebay for £6 but it was an old one and needed upgrading with the codes for the DVDR-880. If it`s upgradable, which I think most are, this can be done over the `phone so make sure you get an instruction manual if you buy 2nd hand.

I tried several times with the Phillips with no joy. The One4all did it straight away and it`s permanent!

Philips DVDR-880 Multi Region Hack - HELP!

I`ve bought the above recorder recently and have attempted the multi-region hack as suggested. I`m using the remote which came with the recorder and have set the IR device to DVD Player remote on the DVDR itself. I am able to do Play 159 and input the code 121212005001 & 002 and it changes the regions to either R1 or R2 respectively, however when I input 121212005255 for muliti-region - nothing! It stays at whatever region it was set at.

Anyone seen this before? Got a solution? Or am going to have to revert to the One4all6 remote to configure multi-region correctly?

Any advice gratefully received.
Thanks
