RE: DECCA DDV 2141 HACK AVAILABLE

Thanks so much for posting this hack! I`ve been looking for one for about a month and was just about to take this unit back before the 30 day no quibble refund ran out.

I can confirm that this works perfectly on my Decca 2141 and that the VCD hack also enables you to play SVCDs. And given that every single type of media I`ve thrown at it works - and that it plays MP3 CDs, Kodak Photo CDs and MPEG files burnt as data, too - with this hack I believe this is one of the best budget players on the market! £69.99 at Kwik Save.

Thanks again,
Jordan

There HAS to be a hack for this one! - Decca DDV 2130

Hi everyone,

Recently bought a Decca DDV 2130 from Kwik Save. Lovely unit, played DVDs and MPEG-1 data CDs perfectly (no VCD support but that`s OK) and could be made multi-region with the handset hack for the Dansai 1010 (Setup, FFD, Prev, Next).

Then I got a little greedy and tried to enable VCDs using a firmware for the Dansai 1010 and the unit completely locked up. Took it back for a replacement but they only had the next model up; the Decca DDV 2141. It`s a lovely unit as well as has nice DVD playback... but the region hack for the 2130 doesn`t work so I`m stuck watching R2 DVDs. :-(

Decca don`t strike me as the sort of company that make their own hardware so I`m guessing this is a clone of another machine... and therefore has a hack available somewhere. I`ve tried 90% of the hacks listed on this site but none of them do anything. Can anyone help?

It would be much appreciated in this run-up to xmas. I`ve got quite a few Region 1 discs stocked up to play over the holidays...

Thanks in advance... and seasons greetings!

RE: multiregion hack for CROWN 550 dvd player ???

Try this hack - worked for me on the Crown 661:

1. Press MENU
2. Press 1, 6, 7
3. The screen should prompt you for region; press MUTE to select all regions.

Hope this helps,
Jordan

RE: decca dvv 2130

1. Press Setup
2. Press the last three buttons on your remote control (fast forward, prev, next).
3. You should be in a secret menu where you can change region.

Hope this helps... and if anyone has a hack for the Decca 2141, please let me know :-)

RE: REMOTE HACKS FOR DECCA DDV 2140

Hi. Did you find the code to make this model multi-region? Picked one up at Kwik Save over the weekend and it`s got a really nice picture.

Worryingly, I`ve tried almost every code (for every model of every player) listed on this website with no joy...

RE: Help with a Dansai 1010 CLONE

Thanks for your quick reply but, if this is indeed a clone of the Dansai 1010 (and I am 99% sure it is), shouldn`t the Dansai firmware work?

The virgin Dansai 1010 models in the shops can`t play VCDs or disable macrovision without the firmware upgrade...

Has anyone had any success updating the firmware on a cloned player with that of another (identical) model?

Thanks in advance!

Help with a Dansai 1010 CLONE

Hi,

I recently bought the Decca DDV 2130 which appears to be a Dansai 1010 clone (the handset hack for multi-region works and the factory settings page shows identical info - even version numbers).

Therefore, there shouldn`t be a problem updating the firmware on my 2130 with the Dansai 1010 one that allows VCD playback and Macro disablement, should there? Unfortunately, when I tried that now, the screen says `Disc Loading` for a while then `No Disc`.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Best wishes,
Jordan
