OK, having spoken to alba customer services and got the "we don`t sell multiregion players" spiel, I am now worried. The guy said that the "Xi" means nothing and that it is a billy bog standard 108. However, everybody here says 108`s are MR from the box, and indeed a friend of mine has one that is MR (out of the box) I brought it from Argos, it is cosmeticaly different from the one in the catalogue and DOES have an s video socket - something that the sales woman in Argos went to great pains to tell me it didn`t have.

The 2,2,1,8 code dosen`t work either. The version number is 36.2.0. Could this have something to do with it.

Any help whatsoever would be appreciated...

Alba 108Xi....NOT Multiregion!!!!!!!

Anybody planning on buying the £70 Alba machine from Argos beware!!! I brought one on Saturday. It had Xi after the 108 on the box. THIS PLAYER IS NOT MULTIREGION, NOR DO ANY OF THE ALBA HACKS WORK TO MAKE IT MULTIREGION.

Unless of course, somebody knows different.....;)

I have the alba 108Xi and none of the alba hacks seem to work. And the player is definetly NOT multiregion out of the box. Any ideas??
