HI,
Would like to thank you for the above hack, tried it on my new portable DVD tonight and it works fine with R1, will try it with a R2 disk tomorrow hope it works. but I can`t see why it wont with the player set to R9.

I have hached my 880 with no problems I just changed the last 3 numbers on the write up i got from the region hacks page to 001 for R1 and 002 for R2,
but you have to chenge the settings when you go from R1disc to R2 disc each time. bit of a pain,
