RE: LG 3350E

See the earlier post by IT Troll, http://www.dvd.reviewer.co.uk/forums/thread.asp?Forum=211&Thread=7177
I also got this player from techtronics and think it`s an excellent piece of kit.

RE: LG 3350E Review - Come get some!

I`ve gotta agree with everything you say - I`ve had a wharfedale, lecson and a yelo and this player is by far the best - the picture quality is outstanding, and the unit is good looking and super quiet (the wharfedale and lecson used to make a right old racket)
As you say - I don`t know why techtronics didn`t remove macrovision - it was advertised with VCR mode in their adverts in a couple of mags - never mind though.

The onscreen graphics are excellent as well - just the remote that lets it down a tiny bit - the cursor keys and enter button seem to be arranged in a bit of a haphazard fashion.
I would definately recommend this player to anyone - a class bit of kit well worth the extra couple of quid over the like of the wharfedale etc.

RE: It depends on what you mean by serious - Perhaps not serious by SCANs standards!

My Yelo also suffers from all the problems that have been raised in this forum - It`s already totally locked out whilst skipping chapters - only rectified by pulling out the plug and worst of all shows SERIOUS artefacting on discs such as R2 Matrix and R1 Sixth Sense. The picture is really appalling (far worse than the cheaper Wharfedale) so I think it will be going back.
My player also seems to suffer from the occasional glitches in playback. Another problem is when playing R1 Sixth sense, the whole pictures is tinted green on and off in sync with when the subtitles even when they are turned off - very annoying.
I`m not sure any of these problems will be solved by getting another player so i`m going to go for my money back - shame though `cos the player could have been excellent.

RE: Glad to hear youve got your Yelo

Yes, It still has the macrovision disable option - got mine yesterday. It seems an ok player but the subtitles defaulting to on is annoying and the picture from mine is pretty crap - loads of artifacting on discs like sixth sense. I`m pretty disappointed in it given the rave reviews but that always seems to be the case.

RE: Yelo 800 for 199.99 here

I`ve just ordered one from here - but they charge £11.25 delivery ontop - so actually it`s only about 9 quid cheaper - still better than nothing eh?
