RE: Maxim MX11-20 5.1 DVD PLAYER - SVCD Audio and video not in sync

Dunno whether its any use or not - but I have read on various forums that a lot of people get audio and video sync problems on SVCD with other players when audio is encoded at 44.1KHz. For many people switching the encoding audio bit rate to 48KHz cured the problem.

I got so p***ed off with mine that I took it back and now have a Pacific DVD-750 which is a great little player - not as nice looking unfortunately, but every disc you chuck at it plays with no problems. Had I found out about this audio bit rate fix I would have tried it before I took it back but maybe its an avenue worth exploring if it continues to be a problem for any of you guys.

Might not work, but worth a try ... There`s obviously no problem with any of the hardware.

RE: Maxim MX11-20 5.1 DVD PLAYER - SVCD Audio and video not in sync

Cheers mate - at least I know now its a fault with the player design and its not just mine. Maybe more info will leak out onto the net as these get in circulation. At £79.99 they`re bound to sell a few and I think they are one of the best looking budget players around. A lot of the others look really cheap.

If I find anything of interest I`ll post it here.

HELP!! Maxim MX11-20 5.1 DVD PLAYER - SVCD Audio and video not in sync

Wow - I actually found a post about this DVD player.

For a minute there I thought I had the only one in the world !!
These must be brand new because I can`t find any information or posts about it anywhere on the internet. Here`s my problem ...

I bought one of these players from Big W and have found that all my VCDs and SVCDs have awful Audio/Video Sync problems. The audio is about 2 seconds behind the video.

I know that there is nothing wrong with the encoding of the VCDs themselves because they play perfectly in sync on my PC and on 2 other standalone DVD players.

Can anyone who has bought one of these please confirm whether they have the same problem - or if anyone knows of a fix. There must be no problem with the hardware itself because both video and audio streams play perfectly - just not at the same time !! I`m guessing maybe the firmware wants flashing - but wouldn`t know where to start.

Any help or advice would be very much appreciated :-)

Many Thanks in advance.
