RE: Plasma/LCD TV advice needed please
What`s the difference (apart from the price!) in a plasma TV advertised with a HDMI interface and one advertised as HD-ready??
Does this mean a TV with a HDMI interface ISN`T HD-ready? If so, what else needs to be done to it?
I`m looking at the Samsung 42" plasma range, but there`s a big jump in price between the model with the HDMI interface and the one that`s advertised as HD-ready.
Help!
RE: Looking for a cheap dvd player which plays copies
Does anyone know if any of these (or similar cheap models that will play anything) have the Dolby 5.1 connections on the back?
Thanks.
RE: Blackstar LOTR offer NOT being honoured
If a shop offers a product at a price, whether mistakenly or not, then it has to honour the price by law.
As far as I am aware, retail law is the same in this regard for websites. I have e-mailed Black Star back and said that I do no accept their retraction as I do not think it is legal.
I shall keep you informed of any reply I receive.
RE: MAXIM MX11-20 5.1 DVD PLAYER @ £79.99 - Big W stores
I took mine back for a refund in the end.
I bought an Aria machine for slightly more from www.aria.co.uk instead and I`m very pleased with it. It does everything the Maxim did but without the sync problems.
If you bought your DVD player from Big W, then they will have recorded your name in a book if your local branch is anything like mine. Maybe they will be able to trace their records for their copy of your receipt.
Give it a try, you have nothing to lose, even if they only give you a credit note.
RE: Snow White & The Seven Dwarfs (1937)(Collector`s Pack)
Got mine today too, gonna have to give it a sneaky watch before wrapping it up for my little girl`s 3rd birthday next month (she loves watching films cos it makes her feel really grown up!!!)
RE: Star Wars Episode 2 DVD Free
Here`s another hint:
READ IT CAREFULLY!
It says the DVD is yours FREE ON APPROVAL FOR 30 DAYS.
Not quite the same as "free" in my book.
I wouldn`t go there if I were you.
RE: Snow White & The Seven Dwarfs (1937)(Collector`s Pack)
I ordered mine on Friday 10th Jan and my order says Goods Allocated now as well. Hopefully will arrive on Wednesday (with the booklet and the disks!)
Let me know if you got the booklet please duder?
RE: Snow White & The Seven Dwarfs (1937)(Collector`s Pack)
I hope so!
I ordered Snow White in the early hours of Friday morning after the "heads up" on this forum and was told it was "out of stock" and being "back ordered" so hopefully I will receive it (for my daughter`s 3rd birthday). Like others, the fact they have simply adjusted the price on the website suggests that they still have stock.
I also ordered Star Wars Episodes 1 and 2 in a double pack for what I thought was a bargain £17.99 and The Matrix for £6.99.
I was kinda hoping they would arrive on Saturday, but I guess I`ll get them tomorrow.
RE: Favourite Home Theatre Demo Scene
Any of the action scenes from Black Hawk Down (you can`t beat the sound of helicopter rotar blades to show off a subwoofer!!)
RE: Maxim MX11-20 5.1 DVD PLAYER - SVCD Audio and video not in sync
John, I found that the problem was caused by the setup of the Digital section. Change from Line Out to RF Remod (or vice versa) and it seems to make it much better. Not totally sure as it`s a new machine for me, but this seems to work better some times than others?!!
I don`t know what these two options do to be honest, the instruction manual is next to useless, but for £80 with a Dolby Digital decoder built in, I`m not complaining!
Anyone know a way I can force the picture into full-screen mode and remove the letterbox effect (it`s supposedly set at 4:3 not 16:9 already)?
