Anyone struggling with playing svcds this method works every time for me. Put your cd in, press program, press 0 then 1 and then enter. Press program then press 1 once and it plays.

I just bought one of these from Argos which im not sure if im regretting. Anyway ive managed to get one hack to work to make it region free. Steps are as follows:

Open the draw and enter the setup menu. Use the right key and highlight the custom menu but dont enter it, now press 3333 and secret 1 menu will appear (at least it did for me), select 0 as the code and there u have it. Press setup again to exit and test it.

SVCD playing

Open the drawerplace your vcd in. Whist the tray is open key in 2812 after its closed press 1. Or insert your vcd and repeatedly press any number key on the remote whilst the tray is closing. Once its closed press 1. Ive had both of these methods work for me tonight but its still a bit hit and miss. There must be a fool proof way to play them.

Im holding out hope a permanent hack exists for svcd play, as the region free menu is titled secret 1, implying there is more to be found. Hope this helps.
