RE: Panasonic E-30 Playback Difficulty
The information has been helpful, and I conclude that the media is the root of the problem. The DMR E-30 hang ups, and it is difficult to open the tray when there are problems reading, recovering or some other factor influences the unit`s operation. It requires pulling the plug and forcing a restart, and even at that it doesn`t work each time. It seems analogous to re-booting a computer. From my research on the Internet, it appears that there is support for the use of Verbatum DVD-R discs to correct DMR E-30 difficulties, and I even saw Maxell mentioned favorably. I can not testify that this is the answer. If anyone has had experience with Verbatum discs, please let us all know. Thank you.
RE: Panasonic E-30 Playback Difficulty
Just as a follow up two issues occurred to me:
1. Could there be some dirt or foreign particles in the machine?
2. I am using bulk pro-grade -R silver 2X discs which at times don`t always burn, but I have had success for the most part. Could my choice of -R discs be at fault?
Panasonic E-30 Playback Difficulty
It is somewhat maddening that all my recorded -R discs are presently causing a U11 code display. I am new to DVD burning. I have played many of these discs back satisfactorily, and now find that I am having difficulty opening the tray once the unit has shown "RECOVER" and "READ". I can`t remove the disc, and the display remains "READ" for an extended time. I suspect that I should be doing something to my E-30 since this appears to be happening with all my discs.
My specific question is, how do I open the tray when I wind up in such an situation where the E-30 is hung up with one of the following dispalys: "READ" or "CLOSE"? I have had to remove the cord and fiddle with the unit many times to finally get it to release the disc, and there must be an easier proceedure which is not mentioned in the manual. I fear that someday, the tray will not open after many attempts.
I would appreciate any help from anyone who has experienced this same difficulty.
