SONY DVP S325 CD-R HACKS?

Hi Ya`ll

I`m new to this DVD scene and have bought a bleeding Sony and am really fed up with this non playing of CD-R`s is there any hack to do this? I heard that the hardware hacks for dvd regions etc dont cure this?

Please help!!!!!!!!!!!!!
