RE: REQ: Panasonic NV-VP30 region hack *UPDATE*
Here it goes: There is according to my dealer a combination for your normal handset so you can make your DVD combo regionfree and macrovisionfree. Panasonic had though told the dealer that it was "complicated" so they are now sending a serviceremote I can use next week. This is as far as I can help you now.

RE: REQ: Panasonic NV-VP30 region hack
Maybe
I have just bought this model. My dealer got hold of instructions to make it regionfree. They are as follows:
" 1. Remove DVD/CD from your drive
2. Press the following keys on your remote:
[ACTION] [1] [>=10] [6] [4] [3] [8]
3. A new meny option will appear named Other followed by four stars. Use one of
the following codes to:
3192-> Multi-Region Enable
3193-> Macrovision Disable
If you locked your player by pressing [4] instead of [1] after pressing [ACTION],
this will also unlock your player."
And this is where I`m momentarely stuck. My remote don`t have a key named ACTION.
Are there anybody with a bright idea to crack this?

You can get a chipped remote at: http://www.dvdcodes.net/dvd%20region%20codes/dvd%20region%20codes%20p/panasonic%20dvd%20region%20codes.htm
I haven`t tried it yet but it looks OK

JVC Combi HR-XV1 Work around RCE?
I upgraded my JVC HR-XV1 with a DVD disc from JVC so it can play region1 titles (I live in region2). I`m having problems with rce titles though which get stuck at "The player is incompatible with discs of this region". Inserting a non rce region1 disc first does not help, nor pressing stop.
Can anybody help?
