RE: Goodbye everyone... thanks for the last 6 years
bloody hell.. no honestly I`m off.. but just to answer that quick question...
the extra half percent is to suggest that the good dr is moving closer to that inevitable 100%..
now i`m f***ing off for good... honestly..
RE: Goodbye everyone... thanks for the last 6 years
thanks a lot for all the nice comments... thought i`d better leave the good doctor what i promised him.. see you all in a years time maybe!..
Goodbye everyone... thanks for the last 6 years
Just wanted to say goodbye... I`m off on holiday next week.. and then that`s me in full time teacher training... I won`t have any time to contribute or argue etc.. .. so I`m making this my final post...
I fiirst visited over 6 years ago when I invented a hack for the philips 751 DVD player.. and stayed to vent splein, argue and occasionaly make friends - Ben Franklin, Chewie, Oggster, Neiliboy, Nickthegun... nice to have met you!..
I`m trying to remove any internet presence that would link my real name with my nickname (a tip from a very harrassed teacher) so i`m asking RJS to remove my account and to delete a couple of threads that include personal details..
I`ve enjoyed my stay.. and if i`ve p***ed off a few people like Hulk and Floyd then I hope they know it`s only to pass the time in a boring night shift.. and not malicious behaviour.. (although i did go a bit far with hulk)...
so thanks for all the great comments about my graduation, my wedding, my daughter`s birth etc... it`s been fun...
byeeeeeeeeeeeee....
RE: Phones4u dealings with cutomers
lol... there`s a huge difference between a writing style and complete abuse of the language...

What is your problem HaGGis? This is a public forum, not a f***ing English test. Cant you just over look these minor mistakes?
mistakes ? yes.. a complete bastardisation of the English language in text speak?.. no
RE: Which was better Batman Begins or Superman Returns?
Quote:
The part what made Batman look like the devil was the part which made me forget about Batman forever and Batman and Robin for good.
Superman Returns was just so slow faster! i say faster! Nothing new or intresting enough and come on you can`t tell clark kent from superman, is everybody in movie land blind.
is this a joke?

RE: Snake on a Plane, if you see this movie you`re stupid.
Quote:
The only reason people are taking note of this is because of all the hype created by people on the internet
The article... if you read it.. deconstructed the `hype` and discussed the conotations of Snakes on a Plane as a DIY movie.. the next few posts discuss such ramifications and whether the writer was just in his reservations about Snakes on a Plane..
cue a post from you telling us a) what we are already discussing and b) what has already been written, all reconstructed in the style of a twelve year old`s prose...
RE: Snake on a Plane, if you see this movie you`re stupid.
wooooooooooooooooooooooooosh
that`s the sound of this thread going over 555`s head

now all we need is iran to give Hizbollah(sp?) those nike`s they`ve been developing under the guise of nuclear energy and WWIII is in full effect.
they could always retaliate with some ADIDAS..
RE: POLL: Can you see The original 42%er MD`s Sig?
that`s because you`re a lazy bastard who is content to leech my bandwidth for 3 years... or put it another way.. I deleted all the files on my websapce and forgot your sig was there..

People who use "would of", "should of", "could of", "had of", etc.
that`ll be sminty then...
as for me.. the woman who`s managed to get a flat near me on invalidity.. bringing with her a bunch of charver scum... her geedy landlord needs a slap as well for accepting her tenancy..
RE: Snake on a Plane, if you see this movie you`re stupid.
em.. did I just read the same article as you?... I found it well written, informatve and more importantly `spot on` ...
He`s not insulting bloggers like yourself, or indeed audiences who want to see Snakes on a Plane. He is simply pointing out that this idea will work once and will probably make a lot of money, but at the end of the day no-one wants a deluge of interactive, choose your own ending movies...

They want to see Snakes on a Plane in order to tell their friends that it`s ridiculous, even though a) that`s the only thing everyone seems to know about this movie, and b) that`s been the driving force behind its marketing campaign.
I would say that sentance sums up what the whole Snakes on a Plane ethos would appear to be... and I would certainly say that the terms "prick" and "dick" are suprisingly sensationalist from someone as literate as yourself.. not to mention undeserving..
pics from the Sunderland Airshow...
spent today getting sunburnt watching the red arrows... not been to an airshow before so took the old camera... enjoyed it. (despite all the makems)
anyone do anything interesting today?
RE: After WoW! Film buff`s, top 50 movies of all time....What are your top FIVE ??
Quote:
It`s a very important film for the UK film industry and defined 1996 as the year of the Brit Flick. PLUS It`s a fantastic film.....
too true... plus it`s a great adaptation of my favourite book... actually.. it`s more like an addition than an adaptation... which makes it a great stand-alone film.. the hairs on the back of my neck still stand up when I see Renton walking away to the sound of Born Slippy...
now if someone can just make a great film about the summer of love in 1988 i`ll die happy..
RE: POLL: M. Night Shyamalan
ah!.. you are right.. twas Gareth Williams... my mistake sorry... thought you had a taste transplant then... and I`m going to carry on calling you Mr Beckett... because you would rather be called wossname ;)
RE: POLL: M. Night Shyamalan
I really wonder about you Mr Becket... the Village??? terrible performances.. actually.. hillarious performances.. Adrian Brody was comic genius (unintended).. and the most annoying thing about it .. is that M S***e.. turned up again in the middle of the film to explain the plot hole as he did in Signs...
saying this.. Unbreakable is superb.. but since then.. utter s***e
RE: POLL: Most annoying accent?
What I hate.. is this whole intolerrance for dialect and accents... I speak with a strong Geordie accent (which get`s stronger the more beer is involved) .. and it really annoys me when people just don`t take the time to listen... The North - South divide is never so strong as when the wife`s family from Essex are up.. they just can`t be arsed to listen and pretend they don`t understand... not to mention that they automatically associate a Northern accent with a lack of intelligence...
saying that however.. I voted cokerney.. not for the accent.. but for the fact that (in my experience) it has to be spoken very loudly and above everyone else in the room.

RE: What I watched this week (w/e July 23rd)
Quote:
Carnivale Season One - With touches of David Lynch and The League of Gentlemen, this dark and surreal story about a travelling circus in 1934 has the usual high production costs of an HBO drama.
Did you actually watch this?.. or did you just copy that from the back of the DVD?..
a fantastic series about the struggle between good and evil in the form of a preacher vs a carney (albeit in role reversal) .. Ronald D Moore is a genius! ...
