RE: Does anyone known the hack codes for Goodmans DVD GDVD141

Try the following:

1) Go to DVD mode
2) Using the remote control do the following - press dvd setup menu
3) Make sure the dvd set up menu has come up, and then type in the numbers 1 3 6 9
4) Then hit the left navigational button 3 times followed by the right navigational button once.
5) That should bring up a version popup two thirds of the way down the set up menu. Enter that version popup and change the region code from 2 to 0.

Its as simple as that!! Let me know how you get on.

Cheers
Rob

RE: Goodmans gtv14dvdt

Sam

Just found the hack for this machine and it works!!!

Do the following:
1) Make sure you are in DVD mode
2) Then press the DVD Setup menu (Make sure the dvd set up screen comes up)
3) Then type in carefully and slowly (but not to slow) 1 3 6 9
4) After you have typed in the 9, hit the left navigational button 3 times followed by the right navigational button once.
5) You should now see in the DVD setup menu, a version pop up about two thirds of the way down in the set up menu screen. Use the navigational button to scroll down to it. Highlight it and change the version from 2 to 0.

Its that simple!! If you have any problems reply to this and ill help you out!

Hope it works - all the best

RE: What Muti-region DVD Recorder to buy? Or should I move to Sky+?

Guys thanx for all your different views - been a great help! I have ended up going for Sky+ for the time being as I managed to get the box and installation for £200. On the Sky website they will only charge £1 installation!! The fact that they have dropped the £10 subscription from 1st Oct makes it a steal in my eyes!

However I still plan to go for the dvdr also, maybe wait a few months and see what dvdr`s come on the market - i guess now that i have sky+ I dont need a dvdr with a dvd-ram. Just a plain recorder will do! That being the case is there any other dvdr`s that are worth a purchase or is the E50 still the best value for money dvdr?

For those intrested in Sky+ i`d say the time is right to go for it - with the £1 installation and with no extra subscription i cant see it getting better than that for the time being.

Cheers
Rob

RE: What Muti-region DVD Recorder to buy? Or should I move to Sky+?

Guys thanks for the info and the different views! I will need to think about what to do. I currently pay the full package for SKY so to get sky+ will only be an extra £250 for box and installation (as of 1st Oct). And an extra £120 if i also keep the sky box i already have!!

I guess the best option is sky+ with a DVDR!! Best of both worlds. Maybe best to go for sky+ this now and wait and see what new DVDR`s come on the market over the next 4/5 months!

Can anyone who has the E50 advise if it is a noisy machine? i.e Fan noise etc?

Thanks
Rob

RE: What Muti-region DVD Recorder to buy? Or should I move to Sky+?

Thanks for the info so far guys, really appreciated!

Where is the best place to buy the E50? Is there a region hack? Or do i have to buy it from a supplier that has already made it multi region?

Also i believe that most dvdr`s record in -r, is this a major issue as i have a wharfy 750 as well as tv/dvd combi - will -r dics play on these machines?

So many questions!!!

Thanks
Rob

What Muti-region DVD Recorder to buy? Or should I move to Sky+?

Any advice on what multi -region DVD Recorder I ought to buy would be most appreciated?! What is best in terms of value for money and where to buy? Must be able to play multi region discs!

I see that Sky+ are also waivering the £10 subscription if you already have the full package. Should i forget about a DVDR and just go for Sky+ and keep my muti region player?

I hope those in the know will be able to help!

Thanks
Rob
