RE: Worst and Best town/city in England

It seems that most towns have at least a few areas where the bog trotters converge.

RE: DVD collecting - Whats the point?

OK, but do they love you for your personality, or just love you for your dvds

DVD collecting - Whats the point?

So why do we do it then. I've got well over 100, which still seems to make me a bit of an amateur in this company.

I'm genuinely interested, is it:
An obsession with material goods
A fetish for collecting things (do you get a warm cozy feeling inside whenever you walk past your nicely shelved alphebetised collection)
Only slightly more expensive than two people going to the cinema anyway, so with extras it's actually a better deal if you don't mind waiting a few months
Or do you surround yourself with dvds as a substitute for real friends.

Do you get a thrill when a dvd lands on the mat before it has even been released?

How many of you are so keen on a bargain that you buy dvds that you don't really want that much just because they're cheap?

Well that's most of my reasons covered, how about you. :)

RE: Film 2003 Poll - Worst Film Ever

True indeed.

Let`s face it, the bbc don`t want a list of really bad films no one has seen because they`re sh*te, they just want to stick two fingers up at Speilberg, Lucas and Cameron et al, when Titanic/Pearl Harbour/TPM wins.

RE: Film 2003 Poll - Worst Film Ever

Chewie, more than happy to accept with your thoughts on Jason X, the X should have been a pretty good indication of the quality.

you`ll have to have seen them in the cinema aswell

Alan, does that mean that when the Best Film of all time comes round again we can`t vote for Citizen Kane, or Lawrence Of Arabia since most of us probably just aren`t that old.

How about a thread "The time I walked out of a cinema really p**ssed off was when... "

RE: Film 2003 Poll - Worst Film Ever

Sorry,

Didn`t mean to go all Dawson Leary on you there.

RE: Film 2003 Poll - Worst Film Ever

Are some of you really sure that you are voting for the worst film ever, or just getting a kick out of nominating blockbusters that didn`t meet you`re expectations.

Sure, Titanic and Pearl Harbour weren`t great, but are you really saying that the set design and effects had no artistic merit whatsoever?

Yes, The Phantom Menace dissapointed almost all of us, but wasn`t 5 minutes of pod racing better than the whole of Showgirls?

Was The Fifth Element far worse than Buck Rogers in the 25th Century-The Movie?

But lets face it, when the winner is announced it will be a blockbuster that nearly all of us have seen, and all of us will know that it was better than Bride of Chucky.

RE: Simply Irresistable??

It`s pretty poor, but what the hell, SMG is always worth watching. Except for Scooby Doo maybe

RE: Wonder Woman - The Movie

Yeah, I was kind of joking about those names, just trying to spark off a little light relief from an afternoon of boredom. Mind you I'm not sure you can dismiss anyone for not being taken seriously as an actress when we're talking about the role of Wonder Woman.

How about Jennifer Garner, or is she too obvious after Daredevil?

RE: Kevin bacon?

How about Dustin Hoffman

european name-ish
death of a salesman
the graduate

ok, pretty lame now I write it down

RE: Play are packing Phoenix Nights season2

Let us know how you get on Alan

RE: Tiger Woods 2004

Gunner, can you save the game during rounds this time out?

I thought last years version was ruined by not being able to stop and come back later, I don`t always want to sit there for hours at a time.

Wonder Woman - The Movie

Well I guess it`s only a matter of time, so who would you like to see taking the lead role?

Pamela Anderson in a black wig
Sandra Bullock desperately trying to resurrect her career
or Calista Flockhart
