RE: Suggestions for a new DVd player for about £50?

8)
Hi Wilbur750, i BOUGHT A Daewoo 9000s from amazon a few weeks back.It had 5.1 outputs,played anything,any region and it was £49.95.Unfortunatley it developed a fault
and had to be returned.Amazon refunded me in full and i then purchased a SVA 2818
dvd player for £39.99..This in turn had 5.1 outputs and played anything and any region. This one lasted three weeks and is on its way back.I have now purchased a PDVD 2266 from troppusremotsuc[at]ku.oc.tniop-latigid <troppusremotsuc[at]ku.oc.tniop-latigid>.This one has 5.1 outputs and again plays all dvd formats and cds and jpegs etc.It also has progressive scan which gives an excellent picture if your tv
has the right inputs. The message i am trying to give you is that there are a lot of far eastern products on the market. Most are excellent value for money but not so good
on reliability. So you pays your money and you takes your chance?.
To buy a dvd player with the same features as my 2266 on the high street would cost
me at least £250+.
Hope this has been some help.

No speech on 5.1 center channel.

:(
H i guys.I have just purchased a PDVD2266 DVD Player from Digital Point in Birmingham. The problem i have is that i use 5.1 Headphones and i have no or very muted center speech channel if i select 5.1 option. If i select ac3 everything is fine but i loose the 5.1 effects.I have treid every option in the menu but no luck yet.The player this is replacing was SVA2181 with exactly the same audio outputs anf that worked fine,so i know that i do not have a amp problemany help would be appreciated.

RE: Best DVD Player For Under/Around £50??

:)
You could do a lot worse than The SVS 2818 from Amazon at £34 + Vat.It plays all formats,All regions with six 5.1 outputs and Karaoke. And with Amazons 30Day money back Warranty you cant loose.

RE: Daewoo 9000S5 5.1 Problem.

Have had dowmmix off and everything works except dialogue.Turn downmix on and dialogue works but rears amd center do not.Have contacted Amazon who have offered a replacement or refund.Have also emailed Daewoo in the States,as this machine was imported from there.I dont think a replacement will help as i am not the only person with this problem. The thing is i really like the player,so perhaps there will be a firmware update or fix?.
Anyway thanx for your time and help.It was much appreciated. If i get it sorted i will upload a message.

RE: Daewoo 9000S5 5.1 Problem.

t
you are right, the menu system is very similar but on the speaker menu
i have an extra menu bar "Dialogue".this is only highlighted when i shut downmix
off.It then has an adjustable slider. Also opposite downmix i only have
RT/LT
STEREO
OFF.

If i click off then the following appears.
FRONT
CENTER
REAR
SUB
TEST TONE
DIALOGUE(GREYED OUT)
POST DRC

When i play a dvd all the backround and effects are where they should be but no dialogue.

Daewoo 9000S5 5.1 Problem.

8)

I have just purchased the excellent Daewoo 9000S5 Player. Unfortunatley i cannot get the dialogue to work on the 5.1 setup.I can get fronts, rears, sub, cen but no dialogue.Or i can get fronts, sub, dialogue but no rears. The manual is crap.I have tried every combination. The test tone works. If any one can help i will be much obliged.

RE: Can I hack a DVD to burn in Multi-region?

:D If you want to copy protected dvds, follow these instructions:-
Download DVDdecrypter from the net.{its free}.This will remove the Css protection.Set it to file copy, and highlight all files. This will now copy to a directory of your choice one very large file. Now you need CloneDvd.This you can get from Kazza.Load the file into clone highlighting all file and menus.you will now have options to pick audio language and sub-titles etc. When you have done this clone will convert the file, which will take about an hour and then it will write it,which will take about another hour.Write to Dvd-R for the best results.Your final copy will be region free and virtually undetectable from the original.
