RE: MICO Espejo R311. DVD Recorder. I have one. First thoughts.
Rob,
Did some tests tonight, not bad, EP+ has a lot artifacts but it`s still watchable even on my 36" sony, sound was good, probably not as much compression change as with the video, and you are getting 6 hours recording for that. HQ was good, probably wouldn`t use it unless it was something short and worth keeping i.e. STTNG. Stick to SP and LP.
I will try to do some more test later and post the out come.
After recording some tests the DVD+RW read perfectly in my laptop (Compaq) using WinDVD2000, which is good.
The manual says it does play SVCD, it`s just not on the box.
region code is the philips 750 hack, I was being a helmet!!!!

Hi Rob,
I haven`t had a chance to properly test it but one of the reviews reckoned that the R311 made better use of the Philips chip, other than that it gets good reviews for a budget DVD recorder, You can`t really go wrong for £199.
It plays VCD, CD and MP3 but not SVCD (who the hell uses VCD and SVCD, YUK!)

I got one last night for £199.99 at Sainsbury`s in Christchurch, Dorset.
Actually slightly less with the nectar points.
This unit is 80% Philips 20% Mico.
Any one region hacked it yet!!!!
