RE: SCAN SC-2000 A users view wanted!
Martin,
As a former Scan owner I would ask you to check all postings over the past couple of months on these forums. It may be a better machine now than the two I previously owned (saw the light, bought a Sony), but the fact is that no other machine has had so many people posting on these forums because they have a problem with it. Don`t listen to Toy Car and all the rest of the present Scan owners, or even those who have burnt by Scan like me - just count the number of problems on these forums which relate to the machine then make your mind up.

RE: starter home cinema Sony DAVS300 v PanasSCHT80 v PioneerNS-DV55
Stubo,
I have a sony 32FX60 tv and a davs300 which is superb. Great sound and very easy to set up and use The only thing against the s300 is that it will not play CDR`s. The Sony can also play DTS soundtracks which I know the Panny can`t, other than that I can`t comment on the Panny or Pioneer but I am sure someone here will!
RE: Sony The perfect DVD Player NOT!
You left out the Sony DAV S300, let me add it to your list - Bloody perfect, fantastic sound plays everything wiv no problem. Unlike my previous player the crap scam 2000 which had crap sound, crap picture and a crap firm selling it. After 3 different players I told scam not to bother with a 4th as I was getting a real dvd player and not a fisher price attempt.

RE: hannibal is utter crap!!!!!!!!!!!
I didn`t like the film very much as I felt it was wholly inaccurate; there wasn`t an elephant in sight and there was no sign of a man with a big cigar saying, "I love it when a plan comes together".
RE: SonyDAV300 to TV
Forget the Scart sockets, does your tv have stereo out phono points? If so use them, if not do what I do and connect using stereo out phono points on my digibox (or video).
RE: SonyDAV300 to TV
Ade,
You can connect tv straight to dvd using the phono leads in the same way.
RE: SonyDAV300 to TV
Ade,
Use phono leads and connect from your sat box/video to the video 1 sockets at the back of the dvd player, then select video 1 using the function button. Thats all you have to do - if it doesn`t sound great you have either dodgy leads or a dvd player.
RE: Sony DAV-S300.
Once you have connected the phono leads you just keep on pressing the function button on your remote (or the actual player) and it scrolls through dvd, tuner, video 1, video 2 etc. You don`t have to mess around with any of the menu settings.
RE: Sony DAV-S300.
Eazy,
I have connected My didgibix and video to the DAVS300 and the sound is superb. It`s just a case of connecting phono leads from the video, tv etc to one of the inputs on the back of the sony player then selecting it using the function button.
RE: Any Happy `Scan` Users
I had a scan, then I had another scan, then I lost money on numerous phone calls, then I lost money on postage, then I woke up smelt the coffee, then I bought a Sony DAVS300, then I laughed at the suckers who buy the scan despite all the warnings.
