RE: DVD HACKS CAN SOMBODY PLEASE HELP

Have tried the hack & the player does says "REGION FULL" but when I insert the DVD I get "UNKNOWN DISC"
These DVDs wre bought by a friend in Peru, South America and so are therefore either region 1 (USA) or region 4 - I have tried both these regions separately but no luck!
Is there another format these could be or something I am missing?
