To answer my own question if anyone is interested, the Akura does play RCE dvd`s. I bought the Mona Lisa film anyway and it played fine. :)

Akura ADV 145S compatible to play RCE dvd`s??

Can anyone tell me if the Akura 145S will play Region 1 dvds which have Regional Coding Enhancement (RCE). This player was bought at Makro for £29.99 + VAT, and was an amazing bargain, as it is multiregional. Not sure I understand what RCE is, but there is a warning on PlayUSA for the Mona Lisa Smile dvd, which says RCE has been added by Warner and Columbia to certain Region 1 dvds.?????

Can anyone help?

I have also bought one of these DVD players at Makro, and it is set as Multiregional, but do you know if it will play RCE dvd`s?
