RE: Encore 450 - Playback troubles

I have some trouble with Sixth Sense. Half the time the machine doesn`t want to recognise the disc and when it did the playback was slow and jerky. It also made a horrible noise in the player. Took it back and got another copy.

It`s a lot better, plays with no jerking, but the disc doesn`t always get recognised.

Encore 450 Region 1 playback

Does anyone have problems with blurry drag lines coming across the screen when the scene changes on Region 1 dvds?

It happens on the only 2 region 1`s I`ve got, Clerks and Chasing Amy. It`s usually on the extra scenes/trailers and not the main movie. I know they were both transfered from LaserDisc and it could be this.

Also when playing the films, it seems that a bit of the top section of the scene is missing. It`s hardly noticable, but I`m a big fan of the films and have seen them a number of times. It just be the LaserDisc transfer to DVD or maybe something else.

Encore MP3 playback

Does anyone know how to do this?

I`m guessing I have to copy the mp3s to an Audio CDR (CD-DA) using ISO9660 as pc data and not audio tracks, I think?

Anyone any guess?

Thanks in advance

Paul

RE: Encore/Sampo firmware

Thanks for the assist. Now all I`ve got to do is get hold of the updates.

Encore/Sampo firmware

I`ve just got an Encore DV450 and I`m not sure what to do about these firmware updates. I can only find 2.0a from the German site and I`m not sure if I`m going to lose any functionality.

Also is it the 3.3 update that fixes the R1 lip-sync and 2.0a the macrovision disable? If so do you load 2.0a then 3.3?

I`ve heard of EncoreDirect upgrading firmware for £26, does this do both or is it completely seperate.

I don`t want to bugger my machine up, but would prefer to burn an update rather than sent my machine away.

Does anyone know what`s best to do?

RE: Anyone Got an Encore with No problems???????????

Got one the other day. There`s no lip-sync probs with region 2, but I`ve not recieved my orders for region 1 yet to test with.
