RE: Comet - What a joke!

I lost all faith in Comet in the past few years.
I used to use them quite a bit in my business, to get peripherals for my customers,,,, but their service went downhill fast.
I thought that when they changed `mother` Company, that it might get better,,, but so far,, in my opinion, it hasn`t.
Thier `returns` or `faulty goods` service is bordering on the obscene,,, when they say that "at their discretion, they can mess about with your bought & paid for item for up to three times,,,, then they can exchange a faulty item, with another product, not necessarily NEW".
It is another of the growing examples of, they just arn`t bothered if you shop with them or not !
We don`t !

RE: Looking For A DVD Recorder Any Suggestions

Hi Paull,
I have just put a post on this forum about recording onto DVD but I notice that you say that you have "programs from TV on DVD".
My post asks about recording from TV (rf) source & playback. If I record from the TV CoaX, should I be able to play back in 5.1 ?
My main viewing is terrestrial TV & VCR with a bit of Freeview & few DVD`s at present.
Any advice appreciated B4 I buy the wrong thing.

Packard Bell Theatre System ???

Hi all,
This is my first visit to this Forum, so I`m sorry if these topics have been discussed B4.

1/ I bought a Packard Bell Theatre System for my TV viewing.
Is there anyone out there that has the same kit for the same purpose please ? as you know, the Owners Booklet dosn`t cover a great deal, & I think that I`m missing some basic info.

2/ I`m considering buying a DVD Recorder but am not clear of what these things will record/decode/playback ! I watch mainly terrestrial TV & VCR, with a bit of Freeview & a few DVDs.
If I record from TV (rf) source (Terrestrial or Freeview), can I play back in 5.1 using the P.B system as above ?

3/ If the P.B system isn't man enough,,,, what is another, entry level kit that I ought to consider ?
