Wharfdale - Overhyped?

hack for DV525 Pioneer? Unlikely i know
Just that really, I know that I can get it chipped or non-chip modified by a company, but was really looking for a remote hack that i could do myself.
I LOVE THE DV525
RE: Beginners Choice: Wharfdale 950s or Pioneer DV525?
Okay, I was recently looking for a beginner entry dvd player, and was lucky enough to work in a shop were we are allowed to take hardware home, and as we sold the dv525 that`s what i first had a look at and it looked great.
Convinced that dvd was worth getting into we then did alot of research and kept coming across as I`m sure you have, excellent Reviews for the Wharfdale, In fact so convinced were we that we went and brought one from tescos the next day.
Contrary to all the ott reviews we found the picture to be only equal to that of a good VHS player, without that DVD zing, of colour and sharpness that you`d expect.
we decided to change it for the superiour Dv525, brought that home and did a head to head test with our Blade runner DVD and found a staggering difference in picture quaility, the colours were very dull on the Wharfdale.
So basically I would say DV525 is the way to go especially if you can get it multi-region and for £200, We paid £220, with 3 free dvds of our choice.
