As far as i know this hack is permanent and theres no need to reset the counter, as for macro no idea, maybe someone else might come up with a solution

OneForAll (URC7560) (many thanks to Allan Verth)
The RC6,4,235 code can be sent using a OneForAll universal remote. To do so:
The remote should be set up to control the DVD (setup code 0539).
Then press the DVD button
Press the Magic button
Press 085. After the 085 the familiar dashes on the front panel display should appear.
And now enter the code (if you want, you can do that with the standard remote):
222 222 005 255 followed by PLAY"
Also check the region hack page at this site, same info

RE: REMOTE HACK FOR PHILIPS LX 8000SA
The hack i tried uses a One4all remote, instructions on this site
http://www.home.zonnet.nl/jeroenverhaar/en/index.htm ,when i tried using the remote i didnt get the counter in the corner so i tried that, even though no dashes came up it seems to work, see how it goes, all the other hack i tried didnt work and i think this is a genuine philips product as the background is the same as other philips

RE: REMOTE HACK FOR PHILIPS LX 8000SA
Hi ive just bought one of these and applied the RC6 hack and can now play region 1 discs, RCE tested with Hollow Man and it works, just ignore the dashes not coming up and see if it works for you

RE: Philips Firmware 7.12
I have a 756 with firmware version 7.03 000320P54 4.3.13 but I cant upgrade the firmware. The player reads the disc and seems to go through the process but the upgrade doesnt work. It comes up with a DLA error during the upgrade. Does anyone have any ideas? Could it be simply that it is not designed for the 756 as it is not listed in the list of players. Any help would be appreciated
RE: Philips Firmware 7.12
Will it work on a 756? I have a problem with anamorphic switching on R1 discs maybe this may fix it.
Philips 756 R1 Anamorphic Switching
I bought a philips 756 today and have a small problem. It doesnt switch anamorphic r1 dvds, but playing a r2 copy of tomoror never dies which came with the player it does. Has anyone else had this problem, is it a side effect of the hack or could it be my thomson 32" tv? My thomson 3300 had no problems switching r1 dvds. thanks for any info
New Thomson Players
Has anyone tried the remote hack with any of the new Thomson players yet to confirm it works? Also what are your opinions on the performance of the players?
