RE: Is there a multiregion TV/DVD combi ??
I got a "Durabrand" 14" combo from Asda, Edinburgh (£87.94) which is completely multiregion straight from the box - there isn`t even any mention of region stuff in the manual, or the ominous Region 2 world logo!
I plays everything I`ve given it so far - even home recorded dual-layer +R discs - no problem!! I has a good picture with full options for bight/colour/contrast/sharpness - one scart and one set of RCA jacks at the rear and another set of RCA jacks on the side just behind the screen beziel
There were two types for sale. One with a squarer look to it, and one that was more curvaceous in design (maybe the newer one) Anyway I bought the squarer one, with the extra RCAs on the side. The curvy one has the extra RCAs on the front.

RE: Hack For Philips DVDR 610 Finally Discovered!
Hi, managed to hack my DVDR610 successfully after about five attempts. I found that you had to type in your codes as described but mightily quick! Two hands, numbers quick, numbers quick, and don`t spend any time looking at the display. The more times you do it, the quicker you get and eventually you can press them fast enough and if you can quickly look at the display the long line of digits DO display.
My advice is keep going and it will work. My machine was out of Argos (but I had applied the firmware upgrade - from the Philips site) - now plays multi-region & RCE discs too!
Happy viewing.
Philips DVDR 610 - Jedi Master help needed!!
Some Jedi Master must be able to perform some lightsaber (handset) handiwork on this machine, and make it multi-region.
I have tried the old Jedi mind trick ("You don`t need to check the region coding... The disc is the correct region... move along, move along") but it`s will is too strong!!
I feel the force is strong in this group - Help me Obi-Wan, you`re my only hope!!
