RE: Acer 17" TFT Monitor
I have Acer Al 1717 and have not noticed this screen size change, although I don`t play games.Argos had the best price when got mine as I was able to buy 10% discount vouchers with my credit card points.
RE: Recording from Sky Autoview
I use this feature on my Panasonic DMR E55 ,I think this model has now been replaced by another, but my mother -in -law has their latest DVD VCR combo and this has the same feature. They call it "external link" so I`m sure it must be standard across their range.
Freeview box £ 29.92 at Tesco
Digilogic DSTB 1000, 2 scarts ,now and next or 7 day program guide, text and interactive.RGB output.Excelent buy at this price. Picture quality is equal to sky .Was going to go for a Sony at 3 times the price but took a gamble on this and am very pleased.
RE: Panasonic E55 ,excellent machine ,report and question
Thanks for that mate I`ve just tried it and it works fine!
Panasonic E55 ,excellent machine ,report and question
Thank you all for advice I have read on this forum which helped me choose this machine.I am very pleased with the picture quality, I cant realy tell recorded programs from live broadcasts. The DVD RAM discs will play in my S35 player so by using the E55 time slip function Its possible to watch a previosly recorded program whilst recording another (if its on the same disc) but if its on a different one I can watch it on the player.I can`t see you can get better than that!
Datasafe Ritek DVD-R at 40p each from SVP(including postage) work great, work ok on the S35 and also on my computer.
The only feature that doesn`t seem to work is" To specify a time to stop recording" page 18 in the book. When the record button is pressed say twice , it should stop after 30 mins but mine doesn`t. Anyone else found this?

Cheap DVD-R discs and E55 are they OK?
Could anyone tell me their experience with cheap DVD-R discs and the E55 recorder.
I see you can buy ,for example datawrite `Red` discs for around 25p each which is much cheaper than `branded` ones.
many thanks.
RE: Samgung R100 DVD Recorder
I am interested in this machine too. Argos have it in their catalogue for £249 but its cheaper on other web sites. If you try Argos ring and reserve you get a messge "not available to mid October" so I guess it doesn`t exsit yet. Not much information about it on the Samsung website .I requested a brochure but nothing has come yet.
