open the tray
press SETUP button on remote control
Press Next, Prev, Next, Prev
Enter the region code set-up
Using the Left & Right buttons ser Ver to 255 for region free or alternatively set to 1 (for region 1), 2 (for region 2) and so on.

Let me know how you get on, as I`ve not tried this onemyself

I tried this on mine & it didn`t work due to Argos doing a swap on the DVD.
Hope you have better luck.

it will depend if your DVD is the DVD-59 model that should come with the system or if
Argos (or wherever you bought it) changed it for a different model, they do this when they run low.

If you have got a DVD-59 then do the following

put power on
press open/close on the remote
press Prog once
press Enter 3 times
The region should now be displayed on the screen
use the Up and Down keys on your remote until 0 (zerp) is selected
then press Stop on the remote which (should) confirm the change.
selecting 0 is Region free mode or if you want you can select a specific region
in the same way.
Press Open/Close on the remote or Stop to exit the set-up menu.
