hi i have a philips dvp 524 (not sure about 05). and the hack is
press system menu on remote
choose prefrence page using left right arrows
key in 135566
use up and down arrows to chaange region
press menu too exit

to make multi region .
1. on remote press system menu
2. use left right arrows to select preference settings
3. enter 1 3 55 66 on remote
4. the player now shows you the region you are currently in.(on tv screen)
5. on remote use up /down arrows to change region .
6. press system menu to exit.
