I have just purchased an aiwa 370 and it is great, and now my brother is interested in a player £170 or under. What is the best player for this price range concidering he can`t go over his budget?

I am undecided between wharfedale 750/750s and a Pioneer DV535 multi-region. Which gives better overall performance and is most reliable (not best value for money, just best performer)?.
