Thanx ... I found it - and paid for it ;-)

AND IT DOES NOT MAKE THE NAD T512 REGION FREE!!! If anybody nows which flag to set and which setting to apply to make the player region free please post that info below.

If anybody else is interested in having the T512 play VCD/SVCD and want`s to save five bucks, here it is:

NAD T512
To play VCD & SVCD

Turn on TV & DVD
Empty DVD tray and close it
Press pause on RC
Enter 1472

Write down all numbers and letters as they appear (just in case...)

Look at PROM EDIT: (Shows 1 47)
Enter 55 (on RC)
Press "Enter" - Number flashes one time

Press curser up once, look at PROM EDIT: (shows 2 42)
Enter 53
Press "Enter"

Press curser up once (shows 3 00)
Enter 03
Press "Enter"

Press curser up once (shows 4 dc or 4 de)
Press "Program" 4 "Program" 5
Press "Enter"

Press curser up once (shows 5 10)
Enter 12
Press "Enter"

Press curser up twice (shows 7 00)
Enter 10
Press "Enter"

Look at PROM OPTION: It should now have the following value: 55 53 03 de 12 55 10 00
If the code is correct, switch unit off, otherwise you should now have learned how to navigate the PROM EDIT menu.

If you wrote down the original setting you can always return the player to it`s original state.

NAD T512 hack needed

I have a NAD T512 dvd player, and now I need it to be region free, can this be done by remotecontrol?
