have you tried connecting your video via scart to the recorders in scart load your video then turn off the video recorder,using the guider select scart choose the length of recording time then press enter .press go (and pause after 3 or 4 seconds),then turn your video back on play your video, when at the point you want to record unpause the liteon to begin recording.if you have done it correctly you should have bypassed macrovision and the recording should come out better than the video if at any time during the recording you stop macrovision will kick back in.

hi mezza are we talking about the 5005b here thats what ive got from argos oct 2004
how do i know what filmware i have,also i dont have nero only roxio,while i find macrovision easy to bypass ,i wouldn`t mind the 3 hour mode ,will i have to find someone with nero to get the update thanks.
found this number sn 102 1241-0090-F2SC(201-010B)

you can also just put the macro disc in the 2 player but leave it turned off,record of scart on the liteon for 3 seconds then pause,turn 2 player back on when at point of film start,start recording ,same idea just slighly different,if you mess up and macro detected you will have to start again.best use rw until you perfect.this way saves messing about changing discs

Well if you want the extra editing video plus pdc timeslip ect ect then the liteon may not be for you but if you have no pc or are on a budget these are some of the things you are able to do with this machine. copy vhs to dvd, copy dvd to dvd ,convert ntsc to pal ,write to dvd+rw+r -rw-r copy music cd , play mp3, record to svcd on cd say the hits about 11 songs in video, playback on tv skip through like normal cd .Make vcd or play vcd made on computer, play jpegs made on computer, photo cd, record freeview digital tv or radio in stereo, record analogue tv, dv camcorder link via firewire control with remote,all with no software update or hack not forgetting you can make it multiregion via remote code ,you should also be able to record sky or ntl if you have it, but i dont.there is a lot of choice out there only you can decide.
