Perhaps so but at the time of my posting there was no stock. I just retried the site a few minutes ago still showing no stock
Would that be one for each ear, or are you just another greedy b[at]drats?
RE: POLL: What do you think to the service the Police provides?
Julianf..................Fair play to you!!! I sometimes wish faced with that in a classroom I could do the same back as I`m sure it would have the same effect i.e. belittling them infront of their mates......don`t think I could get away with it though. Thats why you find that teachers can be sarcastic as hell....its the only defence lol
For me it all leads back to the Corporal Punishment in schools and Clip round the Ear policing - if its nipped in the bud at a young enough age it isn`t as bad when they get older as the respect has been learned.
RE: POLL: What do you think to the service the Police provides?
I know its a hard job, and most of the Police officers work hard, but it just seems that when you need them they aren`t there. I`m sure that these officers feel deflated that they can`t help everyone in the way that they want to, but something has to be done.
Wherea if I am stopped by the Police, I would go back to being a schoolboy in terms of my atttude towards them - timid and polite, but nowadays little toerags just give them crap and swear at them because they know the Police can`t do anything to them. This is being passed down from parents to kids, and is evident everywhere in society at the moment. I see it with the kids at school, and I`m sorry to say its exactly why you just walk on when you see a gang of youths up to no good - it simply isn`t worth the hassle that you are going to get!

RE: POLL: Should muslim women remove thier veils
My experiences as a teacher with religion have been varied, but none moreso than a placement in a Catholic school. this was a state school, not church funded, but their rules of entry would have been seen as racist to anyone else.
Also, was forced to cross myself, and had to sign an agreement saying that I had to abide by the Catholic way e.g. no promoting contraception etc.
This teaching assistant is working in a C of E school, and should abide by their values, just as we would be expected to if we were working in a Muslim place of work or worship.
IIRC when holidaymakers go to Mosques the females still have to cover up, respecting those vaules.
The state of the world has one crazy, and there are too many different rules depending on the religion of the person who the rules apply too. it should be one rule for eveyone, not depending on the religion.
For everyones information, although I was Christened as a child, I am not religious and work with a lot of people of different faiths, and what i find is that the few spoil it for the sensible majority.

Anyone remember Manimal from the 80`s?
And how about `V` as a contender for top 10?
RE: Ripping DVDs to AVI
Seems unanimous - I`ll download it and give it a go. Cheers for the AV software heads up as well :)
Ripping DVDs to AVI
I have a DLINK media receiver that connects wirelessly to my network and allows me to send music, pics and AVIs to it, and play them back on a TV. However, I can`t work out how to play AVIs on it. Thought it was the codecs at first, but now the AVIs play on the PC, but not through the DLINK receiver.
I want to try and rip some of my own DVDs to see if this is a fault or if the thing is just fussy, but i don`t know how.
Can someone point me in the right direction for software etc.
Cheers
RE: The Hoff on GMTV

I just watched the show, and didn`t see any evidence of him being drunk. It just looked like he hadn`t slept for a couple of days, which is basically what he said later on. I also didn`t think he was any more than playful with the female co-presenter, certainly not leering over her.
So if you behaved like that you wouldn`t embarrased of yourself? Come on Brian!!
Playful????????? playful isn`t being over the top like he was, refusing to answer questions until Jenni told him her other halfs name.
I stand by what i said - reminds me of the whole Tara PT incident on Frank Skinner show - bizarre and OTT
RE: The Hoff on GMTV
Got to feel sorry for Jenni Falconer - she did a good job as he was leering all over her and managed to deflect him well. Has he got no shame?
The Hoff on GMTV
If anyone is around have a look at this on ITV - the guy is p***ed or something - not seen anything this funny since Tara PT on Skinner!
RE: help on buying a mobile on three network
I`m pretty sure that 3 now uses the Orange network rather than O2
RE: Ramadan starts Sunday - which means fasting time for muslims
Quote:
Did you know that Jesus Christ is in the Quran and revered as a Prophet?
No Rehan i did not know that, as i do not know about the Islam as a faith, only what we are taught at school in RE lessons. But if this is the case why is there so much hatred for Christianity in the world from Muslim countries? Is it actually down to religion, or is it down to attitudes?
but my original statement was that some people do celebrate different relgious festivals to suit them, not everybody.
In Coventry you can take a trip down the Stoney Stanton Road on a Chirstmas Day and the shops are open, because this is a predominantly Muslim area and as such they do not celebrate this festival, just the same as they pull all the nice Eid lights down when they could be left up for Christmas celebrations. I actually applaud this because i see it as people not being hypocritical.
RE: Ramadan starts Sunday - which means fasting time for muslims
what upsets me, (and I have seen this) is when people use Ramadan as an excuse not to do things. For example, kids at school are encouraged by parents to say they are taking part in the Ramadan things so that they don`t have to do PE and stay after school to do detentions, and yet these same people then celebrate Christmas and the like.
Whilst I have respect for people and their beliefs, what i don`t have is respect for people who play up to different religions just because it can suit them at a particular time. These people don`t do it for religious purposes, they are selfish.
But....good on you Rehan, as you are embracing yourself in your relgion and being true to that.

Problems with Outlook - can`t delete messages & doesn`t show new messages
Got Outlook 2003 installed and suddenly it won`t let me delete messages from my inbox. An error comes up saying something is wrong with the interface and to restart Outlook. I do that and it still comes up with the same error. I have tried to uninstall Outlook and reinstall it but each time I uninstall it and restart and reinstall it comes up as if I hadn`t uninstalled it - with all the folders and files still intact, and the same error message. Can anybody help with this please as I ca`t download any mails either, it shows as the messages are being downloaded, but they don`t show up in the inbox.
Hope you can make sense of what I`ve just said.
Cheers
RE: Fantastic parenting right here
There has been mega fuss at a school in Coventry over a burger van that opened up right opposite the school gates. So the kids now have the choice of the chippy over the road or the burger van. After an appearance on the news, the burger van now has a sign saying `As seen on TV!` and detailing a `Kids Value Meal` - all this after appearing on the news saying that he was not targetting kids but building sites in the area. Errrmmmmm..................I don`t think so, not with the advertising spiel!!!!!!!
RE: Birthday present suggestions please
Quote:
wouldn't like to receive flowers or chocolates unless they are my favourite flowers or favourite chocolates.
I personally don't like expensive presents I like thoughtful presents. (Like cooking my favourite meal. Making a romantic breakfast in bed first thing on the birthday morning.) But thoughtful expensive gifts are the best
Personalised cards I think are cute - you can buy them online,. you pick and choose what goes on the front and inside and then they print them of and send them to you.
and now we know how to get Sminty into bed ;)
RE: What`s your favourite Youtube clip at the moment?

RE: Have you ever cheated on your partner?

Had it done to me once and it was like my whole stomach was ripped out - was completely lost, betrayed and broken hearted. I would never put anyone through that pain.
Taken 2 years to get over it and I don't think I will ever truly be able to trust any one again for fear of getting hurt like that .
Same here, and it hurts like hell. Imagine my pain when a year later she turned up on interview for the same job as me (first teaching post) and then the further pain by being paired up with erh for the tour round the school!!!
The pain does go eventualy and you do trust again - its a lesson learnt.
I`ve now been married to my wife for nearly 3 years, have 2 kids, one who has Cerebral Palsy and even witht he tough times its put on me and my wife, I definitely wouldn`t cheat on her
