RE: lite on lvw5005 macrovision hack

Hi

Great that there is now a *.DSU firmware upgrade out there.

But have all you guys been "upgrading" from the 0090/0091firmware (from the Liteon site) to the hacked 0076 firmware , with its 3hr and Macro free alterations?

Can you go back to the 009X.dsu firmware if it all goes pearshaped??

Anyway I would like to have a go with it (mine is a Jan 04 build- so should be as good as the July 04 built machine!

Could you e-mail me a copy of the hacked 0076 firmware then please?

e-mail ornumfb[at]moc.loa

Cheers
Bernie M

RE: lite on lvw5005 macrovision hack

Hi
Great news and congratulations!!
I`ve Just got my LVW5005 and am a little nervous about doing the PAL 2063
firmware hack - I cant seem to download a correct firmware upgrade
from the official site- "invalid s/n??? "
How can I tell which firmware I have on the machine? I guessed this is the last bit of the serial but that makes it 0090 (on my machine) and the latest version on the website is 0075??....and it is a E00 file too not a *.D00 file...all makes me a bit nervous about hacking it to an older firmware ...and perhaps not being able to go back to the current version!! (is there a ??0090.E00 file?) I will try the hack but would like to have a copy
of the original/standard firmware to go back to if it all goes wrong??

Which firmware version did you upgrade from...and where did you find it?

Thanx

RE: LG3350e -> Amp and Speakers

I`m in the same position- I`ve been looking at the Sony HTK 170 (£270+) which has a pro-logic decoder,6 speakers, Tuner and is sexily slim (to match my Sony TV (remote works the tele too!) or the next up...HKT 215 with the DD5.1 decoder too (£300)...!! I`m using the built in DD5.1 through aset of computer and Hi-Fi amps at present, but balancing or volume adjusting is a pain!! You MUST have a remote control for this! And the Sony models are small and neat...!! But 1. Is there any difference between the built in DD5.1 decoder and using the Sony External one (noise on line?) and 2. Will I always have the LG and it`s built in decoder or will the next step be a higher quality DVD without DD5.1??

Any other ideas?

Bernie

RE: LG 3350 problems - Eeeeeeeeeeek!

It Troll & Co

Any luck from LG about the noise? I think most of us have experienced it now we are looking for it!

RE: To Jezababe. Did you buy the NAPA MP3/VCD CD-player?

Hi Chaps,

I`ve been thinking of getting the Napa MP3/VCD player too. Have you got any details about it? I`ve tried to find out about the batteries (does it take disposables as well, ???battery life? etc) But no joy from the web sites.

Anyone actually got one?

RE: 5.1 surround - what do I need?

Thanks for the list "penyeKz"

I`d be interested in those reviews as I have LG3350 with 5.1 out- which I am currently sending through a set of active computer speakers- not the best but you get the rear/sub effcts OK! I`d quite like a simple 5.1 active speaker set up- smallish if poss.

Cheers
