Bloody horrible remote.

Mine suffers satellite delay. You press a button and 2 years later it does what you asked it! ;)

BTW theres not much inside the Mico.

LOL! So they just packaged it in that massive casing so you`d think there`s lots of technology inside! ;)

Lifting the Mico R311 could give you a back injury....

I have an R311 (not "i") and it has the "Make Edits Compatible" option. It works as well!

So there is a fault with my machine?

And yes, I thoroughly enjoyed Dr Who as well. I really like what they`ve done with it. Apart from Graham Norton and his uninvited audience applause. :(

Yeah, it`s all helpful stuff. thanks. I wish I`d bought a laptop with DVD WRITER drive but I opted just for a reader, as I didn`t think we`d suddenly have affordable DVD recorders etc. So editing on my computer is out unfortunately.

Gotta say the mico is good for the stuff you mention. Archiving stuff, taping it off telly, it is a good cheap DVD recorder. Interesting that they`ve shut the helpline down, sounds like it was getting a lot of calls!!!

RE: The Mico R311 DVD Recorder – Some FAQ to help you live with it.

Thankyou. I guess my only remedy is to either buy the "i" model (no thanks), or sit and manually push the edit button to make chapters as it`s recording! My boss is absolutely certain his is an R311 and it finalizes the discs in edited form, but that`s not possible if only the i model does it.

Funnily, +RW discs DO work for me on my player. The edits and hidden chapters do what they`re supposed to, but with +Rs it doesn`t. I guess one day Mico recorders will be used in jokes like Peter Kay uses Ferguson Videostar as an 80`s joke now?

RE: The Mico R311 DVD Recorder – Some FAQ to help you live with it.

Yeah, but by finalising, that`s supposed to convert the disc to play the fully edited DVD on any machine. Mine doesn`t.

Or are you saying only an R311i will make a fully edited disc? My boss has an R311 and his finalizes discs to run on any machine fully edited.

Thanks for the info too. 8)

RE: The Mico R311 DVD Recorder – Some FAQ to help you live with it.

I`ve had a slight problem with my Mico R311, so I called the Pulse Service Centre on the number above, and it`s out of service now. Just a recorded message saying "please take it back to where you got it from"...

My problem is, when I play a finalised DVD+R in a normal DVD player, all my edits have not been saved. Hidden chapters play. Where I`ve edited in my own chapters after recording: Gone. I`m left with a disc that has a new chapter every 5 minutes where auto-chapter has put it.

I get no "make edits compatible" option in the menu. Just finalize.

Anyone else had this problem and if so, is there a solution?
