RE: Digital TV via a Sky+ Box!

I did do a post code check and the area is fine! I`ll try a booster and see how it goes. I was not sure if the sky box filtered out the digital signals range or not? Has anyone else tried... In the mean time i will give it a go and see how I do! I`ll let you all know.

RE: Digital TV via a Sky+ Box!

To answer your questions a clear up a thing or two!

My sky+ connects to the standard satalite dish on the wall and the main arial on the roof.

The signal from the arial on the roof is passed through to the other devices connected to the sky+ box, i.e. video / DVDR / TV through the standard RF out.

The TV link does send up the standard Analogue signal from the Roof arial please the sky+ signal, I can get good reception on my analogue for BBC 1 / 2, ITV, C4.

My Main concern is that differnet signal range is `filtered` out from the range sent up via TV link or through the Main RF out.

I`m in an area where you need a beefy arial to get digital as I have spoken with a friend (since I put this post on) who said he needed to change his for a high gain (???) one as the arial he had did not work.

Thanks

Digital TV via a Sky+ Box!

I have just got a LCD tv for in my bedroom, It has a Intergrated Digital TV Receiver! The TV has a `TV-Link` From the SKY+ box down stairs and the SKY+ box is connected to the arial on the Roof. I`m not sure if the arial is Digital compatable so I ran the auto install for the BBC Digital Service and got nothing! Before I look at changing my arial will the digital signal still come through my SKY+ box to which my Roof Arial is connected?

Bit of a funny question but would make life a little easier that have a wireless connector for my SKY+ Box then a separate arial for the digial TV!

Thanks

DVD Juke Box on my PC?

I have a large number of DVD`s and CD`s (but don`t we all!!) I have just started putting my CD`s on to my PC as MP3`s and was wondering about my DVD`s if I could do the same? This would be very handy as I would like to put on to my PC and play back on a couple of differnt TV`s...

I know I can get various play back devices for MP3`s to attach to Hi-Fi equipment and us the PC as a jukebox. But is there much out there for DVD`s...

If anyone has any Ideas or is currently doing it please let me know!!

Thanks....

RE: broadband question??

Rv,

I would buy my own wireless router, at 74.99 sounds a okay but you can get cheaper. Do you know what make and model it will be?? I have brought from www.broadbandbuyer.co.uk before and they do good pricing but lots of details / information on all there wireless products. Also look at www.dabs.com they do some good prices and packages with extra cards.

As for your PC`s, it can go wireless in lots of differnt ways but I would recommend a PCI card to slot in to your machine, very much like a standard network card would. Again these can be purchased from the above on-line shops and some times you can get deals on bundles.

Remember with wireless equipment, the more walls you go through the more interference / drop in signal quality you will get so take that in to account your looking at placing equipment.

Hope this helps!

Colin

SKY Link - How do I get better quality!!

I have SKY+ 160 with a coaxile link to a different TV with the Sky remote control receiver unit (so I can change channels etc...). The quality of the picture on the other TV is.... CRAP!! is there a way to boost the signal / improve quality? (I have tried fine tuning the TV!)

I already have SKY Multi-room to keep the mother-in-law happy so I need a half descent alternative!!

Also is there a way of sending the signal wirelessly? but I still need to changel channel watch / control SKY+ recordings. A few friends of mine have asked me about this one as well so any thoughts / suggestions would be great.

Thanks
Colin

RE: Is Sky+ worth the money

Definately!!!

Also anyone else who has Sky+ already and want to upgrade to the 160 box always call the Sky operators as they do special deals only over the phone and not advertised. When the 160 box first came out I got it for £199 and my old sky+ box moved to where my standard receiver was.

Always worth a call!

RE: Panasonic DMR-ES10 & SKY+

I`ll let you know how its gone.

Thanks again

Panasonic DMR-ES10 & SKY+

I`m looking at getting a multi region Panasonic DMR-ES10, I currently have SKY+ as well and look at copying programmes from my planner to DVD-RAM so I can edit out Ad`s and start / endings to recordings that are not needed on my computer.

Firstly.... I know that from SKY Box office to VHS can not be recorded, can this be achived with ES10 or is it `impossible` or need a different recorder.

Secondly a Good cable (at a good price) to record from sky to DVD and suggestions?

Finally anyone know of any good deals / recommend place to buy the ES10 on the net?

Thanks

Colin
