RE: Philips DVDR610 version

I`m using version 26, which I installed as soon as it was published.

My 610 has worked flawlessly and has been very reliable.

Quite unlike the DVDR880 I also own, which has been a nightmare experience!

RE: DVD+R created using Phillips DVDR 70 wont work on a Pioneer DV-565A

Hello!
I have a Pioneer 565A and a Philips 880 and 610 DVD recorders.

I`m afraid that the 565A does not like DVD+R or DVD+RW disks!

You will get "no disc" when you try to play DVD+ disks

Disks made on my 2 Philips recorders play perfectly well on my other dvd players, but not on this Pioneer, which I bought mainly for the SACD/DVD Audio capability. It`s a pity
because it plays practically any other disk you can throw at it and its a very good
machine.
I think because Pioneer are a champion of the DVD-R format, they engineered it
not to play the + format, but that`s just my opinion.
