RE: Panny DMR-E85 rebooting when dubbing

Hi - yeah I had that problem last year with it! The dealer took it back and did a software upgrade (and saved my HD contents) and its been ok since then...until this week. :/ From reading around it may be a fragmentation problem. Seems I may be able to dub to DVD RAM and then reformat the HD. I may need to try that... :(

Might give the number a bell though, thanks - worth a try. No doubt I`ll get a "send it in to your nearest authorised dealer" robot on the phone... ;)

Panny DMR-E85 rebooting when dubbing

I switched on recently to dub a few things off HD onto DVD - and it won`t play ball - if its set in high speed dubbing mode (which I always use, having set all my recordings for this more) and I compile the list of recordings to transfer and hit the "start dubbing" button, the machine reboots after a about 2 seconds. If I try dubbing in normal speed mode, it seems to get so far along but will then still reboot before the end - I just tried in normal mode and it dubbed the first prog, then started on the 2nd - and 30 seconds in - *click* - reboot. Twice. >:(

Anyone else had this fault or can anyone advise what this might be, please?
